1. Well, thanks, anyway. But you can seriously get the 2-packs for at least 5 bucks less if you go east (Queens) instead of west (into Manhattan). I realize that this is still $5 more than most of our fellow collectors are paying in the Continental US, but such is our lot, eh? thanks for the suggestion, but as i said i'm happy to pay a bit more if my money's going to a smaller, more independent place rather than huge chain stores.
2. NYC's a big place, lots of collectors. Didn't see AC Joker or Bane, wasn't really looking for them. I bought the QS/WM pack at forbidden planet for 21 dollars, I don't mind paying a little extra at comic shops and small places, especially since TRU TS 2-packs are like 23 dollars or something . Everything else was bought in Astoria.
3. I saw the white FF set at Times Square TRU maybe a week or two ago. In the last 24 hours, I had my largest haul ever! Picked up: Astonishing Wolverine Spider-Woman Quicksilver/Wonderman Daredevil/Bullseye Honor Guard Joker/DK Batman I found an awesome, non-descript toy and junk store in Astoria just blocks from where I live off Steinway, called Toys and Variety. They have all kinds of great stuff .
4. Ogun, what materials do you use? looks amazing.
5. Another day at NYC Comic con with the new Magneto for 11 dollars. This city is great for figures. Been here 2 months exactly, so far I've gotten: -X-Force 3 pack Scarlet Spider Skaar Winter Soldier Hydra Attack Trooper Battlefield Cap Thunder Crusader Thor Sif Silver Samurai vs Patch Namor X-23 Commander Rogers Astonishing Wolverine Magneto since i've been here. It was only last week the X-23 wave hit, now the Astonishing Wolive wave has reached Forbidden Planet.
6. in NYC, MUs are 9.50, but for me it evens out because it's so easy to find new and rare figures here that it saves me time, gas and energy.
7. picked up Commander Rogers and Astonishing Wolverine at Forbidden Planet in NYC tonight right before the Con. Got the last Wolvie, but the rest of the newest wave is there! I can't believe how quick that was, just last week the X-23 wave hit NYC.
8. Recently found Cable, the only cable I've ever seen, and X-23 and Namor.

Anyone combine their GI Joe and MUs as characters? I don't collect GI Joes, but I recently read an article suggesting that GI Joe as it's known today (with Duke, Snake Eyes, ect.) was originally a story of Nick Fury's son, who was turned into Duke, and his SHIELD team fighting HYDRA, that became Cobra, that marvel changed around when Hasbro wanted to create a GI Joe comic book. I have a few GI Joes just as background soldiers, but it would make for an interesting dynamic integrating the two stories - a special ops team that responds to super-human threats. Might get mixed up with super-soldier and anti-mutant/Sentinel groups.
9. Cable, baby! Hadn't seen this one ever before, but swung into a toys r us and swipped up the only one on the pegs as the store was closing. great figure!
10. Nice! Glad to know wave 15's hit NYC. which queens target? hoping they'll hit times square TRU after the buy2 get 1 free sale.
11. I got X-Force 3-pack Wolverine (my first one was lost), Scarlet Spider, Helmeted movie Thor, Sif, and Silver Samurai/Patch 2-pack in the last several weeks!
12. When a new wave comes out, there is angst and panic. when there is no wave, there is boredom and frustration.
13. You know what blows? - the opposite of a haul. so I had to evacuate my area for the hurricane Irene. Since I couldn't take my collection I decided to take my favorite figure, X-Force 3-pack Wolverine just in case of flooding or something - the only figure I took (the irony). I stuck it in my jacket pocket, and when I remembered it, it was gone! I looked everywhere for it. ::shaking fist:: IIIIRRREEENNNNEEEE!!!!!!!
14. I'm in NYC and I stopped by TRU times square yesterday for the 2 for 10.99 sale, and there was nothing but Wreckers, Buckys and Iron Man 2099s along with at least 40 Winter Soldiers and no other Cap figures. I returned today anticipating a serious re-stock. They had a lot of many of the mysterious later-waves of Thor, so I was able to snag the only Sif left! I am really happy, she seemed to be Thor's 'Mandarin'. She's a great figure, a great character, and the only female marvel figure who's had justice done to her in terms of detail and sculpt. Looks awesome! Also got 'thunder crusader' Thor, with a helmet and a blue hammer. The likeness is great, the figure is really cool. They had black Destroyer, two glow-in-the-dark repaints of the sleeved and sleeveless Thors from the first series, which were actually really cool and tempting. Finally, they had a kind of electric-blue Loki that was cool.
