  1. Hit up a local TRU, found the majority of the Avengers stuff. Only thing that was missing was Ultimate Hawkeye, I think. I ended up snagging Ultimate Thor and the armored movie Cap. Have to say...super disappointed. I knew about the reduced articulation, but these guys are tiny. So very tiny. Captain America is easily shorter than any MU figure I own, about the same height as the repackaged X-Men Origins Wolverine X-Force team pack Wolverine figure. That was a mouthful... What's up with their movie figures, way too small. Looks like I'll be sticking to the MU line from now on, even though I've said that before.
  2. I demand gorgeous pecs and rippling abs! Ahem. Nothing to see here.
  3. I know everyone's not genetically gifted, or has access to an inhuman amount of steroids, but Momoa reminds me of one of those high school kids that played sports for four years, never had any extra bodyfat, and can do a week's worth of situps then BAM...abs. I'm a longtime gym rat, so Momoa's physique just doesn't impress me. Especially when compared to transformations like we've seen in Christian Bale and Ryan Reynolds. Not that those guys are huge, but they certainly bulked up and slapped on some appreciable muscle for their roles.
  4. Sweet likeness, you never fail to impress. Unfortunately, I think Jason Momoa made a terrible Conan. I know the number of actors built like classic Arnold aren't staggering, but man...at least get someone that looks like they didn't just hit the gym for a month and call it quits.
  5. Lakeside TRU had remnants of the latest wave of MU (Scarlet Spider, Falcon) along with Apocalypse, FA Wolverine, Cyclops and the standard peg warmers. Also had a ton of Sentinels and helmet-ed Thor, but no King Loki... If anyone's interested, they also had the new wave of G.I. Joe (Hazard Viper, Viper, Cobra Trooper, etc), some new Transformers (only thing I honed in on was the Masterpiece Rodimus) and it looks like the stocked out every last bit of Star Wars figures they had.
  6. I absolutely hate Fantomex and Deadpool's team uniforms, no idea why they deviated from the black and silver/grey. Regardless, you did a great job on the snarky faux-Frenchman. White is a hell of a time to paint and your application came out nicely. Well done!
  7. Not sure if anyone's looking for him, but I saw three Stretch Strike Venoms at the Disney Store over at Lakeside Mall in Sterling Heights, Mi. Very small Marvel 3.75" selection over there, passed on Venom after seeing the almost metallic purple shading on him. That, and he was priced at $9.98
  8. I think I've read that Jin uses rare-earth magnets, and this place has a good selection; http://www.amazingmagnets.com/ edit: As a matter 'o' fact, he actually has a tutorial about it here.
  9. I really don't know what to call that type of style, maybe segmented? Anyhow, I'm looking for some input. Not sure if any of you guys have any experience with that particular design, but has anyone come up with a way other than sculpting them? I really don't want to have to sand down the arms and resculpt them with the segments, nor do I want to add any Aves ontop of the arms to bulk them up. Is there any method any of you have come across to cut the lines into a pair of relatively smooth bare arms in a way that doesn't look sloppy? The Winter Soldier figure coming out in the Captain America line is a perfect example, unfortunately I'd need both arms in that style. The upper arms on the IM2 Titanium Man are a bit too bulky for the character I have in mind as well.
  10. Ah, very nice! For having the nickname "slim," I thought the XMO:W figure was way too bulky...the little arms didn't help things much either. Awesome work!
  11. Oh, that's already just awesome. I'm probably in the minority here, but I never liked the original Death's Head character design. Now DH2? As a kid, how could I not think that melty robotic skull wasn't the coolest thing ever? Can't wait to see this finished!
  12. Man, that's just awful... ...ly awesome! cwutididthar? I slay me! Really, amazing work as always. I think I like the alternate head more, a little more intimidating, but its really a toss up since they both look great. The Keldor head is a nice touch, too.
  13. lakeside mall ? sterling heights ? yeah i seen them too You got it. Nice to see someone from the area. I guess Fairlane and Great Lakes has a TRU Express too, although I heard their stock is pretty thin since opening. Most of the good stuff already got snagged.
  14. Found but not bought, haha. Check your shopping malls for Toy 'r' Us Express stores. They've been springing up around the Metro Detroit area, not sure if its a country-wide thing though. They seem to have better stock than my actual TRU, oddly enough. Wandered in the other day and they had Iron Patriot (not the variant unfortunately), a couple Skrull soldiers, Iron Spider-Man, short hair Winter Soldier and one Mary Jane with some awful paint application around the eyes.
  15. Worlds better than what was actually released, and good job on making that Wolvie body not so short. I just can't place that cybernetic arm, where did it come from? Looks sweet!
