  1. I don't think Disney/Marvel can tell Hasbro what to make. Plus with all the lines that Hasbro will be putting out featuring Marvel characters in the next two years I just don't see ML becoming a steady brand again.
  2. Mattel just isn't the same kind of company that Hasbro is. Mattel has two line right now when it comes to boys, WWE and DCUC. That's it. While Hasbro has Joe, Star Wars, Transformers, Spider-man, Iron Man and the Marvel Universe stuff. So Mattel can take a small group of people and design a toys line (or toy lines) that basicly use the same tooling over and over again and sell it online. All the while there two power house brands (Barbie and Hot Wheels) have no real direct competition. While Hasbro has large teams that are focusing one one seperate brand and usually have one brand that "pushing" at retailers at a time (right now it's Iron Man, in the Fall it will be Joe, TF and SW becuase of the new cartoons. Then it will be Christmas and after that they will start gearing up for Captain America and Thor). Hasbro just doesn't want to take the time to do a online collectors line when they could put those resources elsewhere and make more money.
  3. I'm guessing that they are the proto's that have been poppong up on eBay for the last month or so. So I wouldn't get your hopes up yet of them coming to retail.
  4. My guess would be we won't see any of the store exclusives until closer to the opening of the movie. So around the end of April/ beginning of May.
  5. Last I remember hearing was second half of this year. Maybe if we're lucky we'll find out who they are this weekend.
  6. your right for some reason I counted wrong. Still I don't blame distribution but sell through.
  7. It didn't have anything to do with Hasbro, if stores don't order something (or over order something) you won't see the newest wave. I never saw the last two waves of IM figures at Walmart , Kmart or TRU. But I did see them at Target in Dec of 2008, never again after the holiday season. Then two months ago I started see them at a store all the time and now they have phased them out. But we did get six waves of IM toys for the first movie and what I do find funny is that people complained about all the repainting done in the line but want the figures that are pictured in this post but those are all repaints. You just can't win.
  8. There wasn't really a unified Marvel toyline before legends. You had many line based on all sorts of thing that were more or less in the five inch scale.
  9. I've recently been selling my ML's and we I got to those figure I was able to get about $10 each for them loose. If I was you I'd just look at completed auctions and go from there.
  10. And who would they give it to? While you might think Hasbro is bad, right now it's the best option out there. Any other company would either charge too much with almost no line to speak of coming out or that most of the companies that people would like to see produce it are dead (and that say a lot about the company right there).
  11. You know guys, I really sympathize with the whole ML plight , but if you think Hasbro isn't making any money on the Marvel front your all delusional. Just because we're not getting the line we want doesn't mean that no one is buying all the Marvel related stuff that they put out. I would bet right now that Hasbro makes more on Marvel product then Toy Biz/Marvel Toys did. When TB had the License you could go to Walmart and see ML (if they had any in stock, Gee how things don't change) and a Spidey line. Now you have IM, Spidey, MU, Handful of Heroes, Superhero Squad, Wolverine (two line, Movie and animated), Marvel TF's. Sure in the 90's TB hayday they were producing alot, but towards the end it was just ML, Spidey and whatever movie they were pimping out that year.
  12. While it might be nice I doubt it will happen. Planning these things out takes a lot of time. I believe the general timing issues are eighteen months prior to shelf date. So in order for them to have do that they would have had to be planning these things back in late 2008.
  13. Since these won't be out until next spring or summer I can wait on fining out who made the line up. But didn't they say that all the figures shown at SDCC were mock ups, not prototypes? So the figures we get could be vastly different then the figures that were shown.

  15. Between all the Walmarts in my area I can put together a almost complete Ares wave still, just no Crossbones.
