Prediction: Alpha Flight is the next box set. Tell me I'm crazy

So, looking back over several of the box sets, I've noticed a basic formula that leads me to believe the next or one of the next exclusive box sets, be it SDCC or other, has a strong chance of being Alpha Flight. I invite anyone to dispute me or explain to me why I'm wrong.

The formula I'm following is as follows: 1 previously released BAF repaint or modified, 1 unique figure that requires a specific sculpt, 3 or 4 figures that use separate yet common reusable with slight modification or glued on parts or reusable accessories.

Here is the line up I'm predicting and it's presentation:

1.Sasquatch - Reused BAF possibly repainted white, but most likely repainted a more vivid orange in classic style.

2.Puck - Simple reissue of the Wolverine Legends mini-BAF with a possibly different paint app.

3.Snowbird - Simple repain't of an existing female buck. Preferably the newly retooled Medusa buck or the Dark Phoenix (yes it is different)

4.Guardian - Using a simple repaint of the Bucky Cap mold.

5.Shaman - Using a simple repaint of the Spider UK with a repurposed satchel from the Hobgoblin figure & glued on tassle pieces for the boots.

6.Marrina - Simple repaint of the Kate Bishop mold.

8.Possible Outliers - Vindicator, Northstar, Aurora; any of these could be done as simple repaints and take the spot of one of the other three standard figures, though I suspect Northstar & Aurora will be done seperately as a 2 pack sooner than later.

To some this might sound far fetched but let me point out that Marvel tied the apple cart to the Inhumans for some time now trying to push them as the next super team/family and the eminent failure of the comic & television show is about to put the final nail in that coffin. With the void being left by the Inhumans and talks for an Alpha Flight movie suddenly back in the works the Canadian Avengers are in prime position for a resurgence, especially with the Marvel Rebir.....err, Legacy looking like it's going well (so far, anyway). I'm liking this outlook.

Anyone?

I can see this being the next box set now you've said it tbf. I would suggest a repaint of Captain Britain for guardian though.

I don't know if this will ever come to pass, but I'm all for it!

If Snowbird is included, it would make sense to have the Sasquatch BAF repainted white (especially since it's a boxset, chances are there won't be any animal pieces included).

As for Guardian, the Captain Britain buck is too large. The Grim Reaper mold would suit here.

I agree, you don't want Guardian to be too big. The Marvel database indicates James Hudson is a man around the size of Steve Rogers & his suit has always been portrayed as more form fitting similar to the modern Black Panther or Spider-Man in Homecoming rather than bulkier hardware like Iron Man. I'm not sure if the Reaper buck would properly represent the added size but the Hyperion buck is way to large. As far as I can remember he's always been portrayed much like Magneto who is also clad in armor but not much bigger than a Captain America body type. I know its all just nerdist retentiveness but I really think the musclebound Hyperion buck would be farther out of scale on the larger side than the Reaper buck would be on the smaller side.

I am also a massive fan of Heather Hudson as Vindicator (not the Safari explorer wannabe) after Guardian's "death", but if your going for the original team there really are only a few available characters, even Marrina is kinda pushing it as she wasn't actually part of the original roster but promoted from Beta Flight a short time later. I also like characters like Box and Talisman (Shaman's Daughter) but if they're gonna ever even do any Alpha Flight figures I'm assuming they're gonna begin simple and start from the start. Though a Madison Jeffries version of Box would make a freaking awesome BAF.

I have to say I don't think the Captain Britian mold would work for Guardian. I always found Guardian to be smaller then Cap Brit. Spider-UK build might work better.

Northstar and Aurora could just use the Spidey and the Moonstone build.

Puck could just be just the BAF again

Vindicator could be the Moonstone build as well.

Shaman on the Bucky Cap mold with new accessories.

That give us 6 figures, which seem to be the max for store exclusives at least, so I would leave out Sasquatch and put in some forms for Snowbird, like a owl or wolf.

Lol, I thought the Reaper buck WAS the mid point between Joe Average Bucky mold & the Hyperion mold. If anyone's done any comparison the Spider UK buck is almost the exact same size as the Bucky buck. So much that I personally think it was made to be more or less an alternate to the Bucky buck just because so many characters fall underneath that particular size scale.

In all actuality the size of the standard male body molds go as follows:

1. Ultimate Spidey

2. Pizza Spidey

3. ANAD Spidey 2099

4. Bucky Cap

5. Spider UK (just slightly)

6. Grimm Reaper

7. Hyperion

There's a much wider increase in size between the Spider UK mold & the Reaper mold than there is between the Bucky mold & Spider UK mold so those who were originally advocating for the Hyperion buck might be happier with the Reaper mold after all. As Rukk pointed out, Hudson and Rogers are listed at the same height so that checks out. As far as the 15 lb. weight differential, the extra bulk of the Reaper buck would be representative of the extra weight & bulk of the battlesuit.

Problem solved.

BTW, I do feel there is a need for a standard buck to bridge the gap between the Spider UK mold & the Reaper mold and though I know most any new sculpt would be well received by us fans I think too many sculpts would make the most....discerning of us fans even more PICKY. I'll be the first to admit that would be me.

I just want Alpha Flight, man.
