  1. CAPTAIN AMERICA (secret mission): I loved the look when Steve geared up for his first mission to rescue Bucky, and I was always bummed that Hasbro didn't make a figure, since the WWII uniform parts looked so good with Steve's goofy War Bonds costume. Since it's pretty clear we're not getting this version officially, I wanted to make my own. Steve's cobbled together from a big bunch of parts-- Rocket Grenade head, legs and belt, Yellowjacket upper torso, Wolverine Origins Stealth Strike Wolvie lower torso, ROC Destro arms and shoulder holster, POC Cobra Commander jacket (trimmed to stop at the waist), Movie Cap helmet and goggles from the Golden Compass Lord Azrael. Shockingly, all the parts worked pretty well together, with very minimal trimming and adjusting required! I repainted the whole figure to give him the drab military look, with a bright blue shirt and white star poking out from under his jacket. After that I just grabbed an oldschool shield I had lying around to finish him off. I'm pretty happy with how he came out (especially with no sculpting, just kitbashing)... hope you agree! 2. As soon as I saw the unmasked Cap from Hasbro's Avengers line, I knew I wanted a couple extras for a project I've wanted to do since I saw the movie last Summer. As an added bonus, I scored one to make an unmasked modern Cap as well! Here's a few movie-styled customs I put together: AVENGERS CAPTAIN AMERICA (unmasked): totally simple head swap... for some absurd reason Hasbro didn't sculpt their new Caps with the same size neck peg, but all I needed to do was trim the tip off the neck ball on the modern Cap to make the unmasked head fit more naturally. RED SKULL (trenchcoat): I wanted to do some "unfinished business" Cap movie figures for a while now, and things came together when I found some Red Skull and Hydra troops on clearance at the Disney Store. In the movie, Schmidt is most commonly seen in his black trenchcoat, so I really wanted to make this look. I used the Hydra Troop body, which added some much-needed height to the offscale Skull, along with the Skull's head and forearms. The harness is a Hydra Troop flipped backward (which looks pretty close to the pattern of the Skull's coat), and I glued some clipping of Wolverine claws for the silver buttons going down the jacket. The lower half of the jacket was a LOTR 6" figure cape, wrapped around Skull's waist and secured in place underneath the belt of the harness.
