I've asked a few people here and there to shrink them down, as some are almost 1200 pixels high, with pictures and text... way too big.

there are no specific rules for sigs, but if it takes up most of the screen, then its too big

Yes, turn them off in your control panel.

I've done this and killed the avatars too, made surfing the forums much more pleasant as I actually get to read what people have to say.

I think a lot of the fun comes from looking at different people's avatar's and signatures, plus it allows easy identification when reading who said what.

I agree about the long sigantures though. That don't fit right, and take up alot of vertical space.

Alright, im putting a sig limit into effect, please keep your sigs under 500 pixels high, and make sure they don't stretch the screen. If you can't figure out how big your sig is, right click the image and go to properties. the 500 pixel high limit includes text as well as images.

I don't care if its over by a bit, but if I can't see your post, and the next post below yours at the same time without scrolling down using a resolution of 1024x768, then your sig is too big. Remember different members use different screen resolutions on their computers, plus some members have dial up. While you may be using a setting of 1024x768 resolution or higher on your monitor and can easily view large signatures, other members are using 800x600 and even 640x480. For those guys, a large sig 800 pixels high, is gonna be a screen to 2 screens high. Very annoying.
