I just came on a few minutes ago and I saw an advertisement for "Girls Gone Wild". Is that really appropriate for a site that has many members that are under the age of 18? I just joined reciently after being a longtime lurker. I really think that promoting adult content here is poor judgement. @grumpy@

It's more Google than us... we don't pick and choose what goes on the site. Whoever buys Google ads, gets put up here, regardless of it's "taste".

 

You should come out of the shadows more often, there's way too many lurkers around here!

but seriously, what rika said, those large ads at the very top, and at the side are ran by Google, this site doesn't control what they advertise, I havn't seen the ad, but im sure they're not showing naked girls or anything.

Actually I believe the girls gone wild ad is nothing more then phone ringtones and wallpaper of girls in bikinis. As for the primairy age of people who come to these sites are males 16-34 year olds so the demographic would be just about riight. There should be no ads on here you wouldn't find on Myspace or pretty much any other major website on the net today.

 

We do block any ad that would be actual pronography from the ad networks and by all means if you see an ad that takes you to a site of actual nudity or such LMK. Again though I believe the ad you rerfer to has nothing actually pornographic in it.

Don't they carry a warning? I thought I saw some kind of ad a few months back that had a "Do not click unless 18" thing on it.

Usually, but those ads are only for ringtones... which I don't understand the warnings, but sometimes the ad is CREEPY. <_>
