so, hasbro showed me again that they cant do it right. the last 2 years i got so dissapointed with them and it goes on. now spectacular takes the round. i loved the figures but the more i look at the show, the more i think they are bad. red/blue spidey is the only one who is good. whats bad with the others?

unmasked spider-man : he doesnt looks one bit then what peter looks like in the show.

octopus : he has no love for details and his tentacles look so different in the show.

venom : he is more tiny then octopus? octopus for crying out loud. he seems to look realy big in the show so why make him so small?

black spider-man : now this figure is the reason because i do this thread. he looks nothing like the one in the show. in the show he has the movie version costume on and not the one they did. now i know it is a kids line and i am willing to close my eyes on painting, size, articulations but come on. this seems to be a punsh in the face for everyone who loves the show and even worked on the show. the figures doesnt represent anything thats in the show.

now sandman and green goblin are looking awesome but again goblin seems to be so much taller then sandman. i mean why do figures of a show when they dont even look like them?

cause that the way it is in the show.

What does that mean??? He's talking about the show and the fact that they don't look like the characters in the show.

Anyway, while I agree they are not dead on and suffer from some scale issues, the show is young and the figure line is young so there's lots of time to improve. This line has suffered from being ahead of itself from the beginning. Evidenced by the prototype pics still on the cards that look absolutely nothing like the show (I like the prototypes and want the prototypes, but they are wrong.)

I mean, if the line is to continue, we gotta be getting 3 dozen flavors of Spidy, and 22 Green Goblins, and so on.

I will say, they are wasting no time cramming in the characters on the show. Black suit, Black Cat and Chameleon this week as we build toward Venom.

So maybe the line will turn toward accuracy, maybe not. Sadly, I dig them anyway.

Oh, and I totally disagree about the unmasked Spidy. Think it looks just like the show. But that's just me and I'm a...

I see what you're sayin'. The show is fantastic, and the toys don't seem to line up at all. I think the problem is whenever they decided to start making the toys. The back of the package already shows different head sculpts, so I assume they were in the process of character design for the show when they made the figures. So when the show designs came in, they rushed out some new headsculpts, however, the bodies still didn't line up.

As it was said above, I figure that the toys are evolving as we speak so that they'll line up soon enough. Personally, I still love the black costume figure. It's great in it's simplicity, even if it doesn't look like the show's designs. Nonetheless, there was a "super articulated" version shown, so I assume that one will follow the show's design more closely.
