MARVEL COLLECT & CONNECT DIOS

what if they had dios that you could buy and connect together like they did wth the simpsons, but only bigger!( not huge, but bigger) then they could give you a fig that was themed to the set that it came with. also the figure could be a character that people didnt have, but probally wouldnt want by its self either, but could still round out your collection( for me its cat faced beast) so what we would get would be "cat face" and the left corner of the danger room, or his lab, or something.(just an example) perhaps dum dum or just some random shield guys and peices of the shield deck or whatever for 19.99-24.99. whatta ya think? good or bad idea? i think that itll work out! of course youre gonna have them throwing in repaints and probally some re-releases(which could be good in some cases for some people) but you would get to build the danger room or doom's castle......stark's lab or a floor of the baxter building.

Not likely to happen. Hasbro won't even contemplate this idea with their most successful line (Star Wars) so I'm pretty sure they aren't planning it for Marvel Legends anytime soon.

Personally, I probably wouldn't buy them. $20 bucks is too much for a single figure, and the "connect a playset" feature is likely to end up half-assed, flimsy, and/or otherwise not be well-executed.

I agree with JMacq, Hasbro right now is already struggling with pricing the stuff and adding more large sets of expensive "plastic" (look at the price of oil nowadays) to the line would just add more to the cost of producing these and add on to the sticker price. Why not just put little "interesting" add-ons like accessories (an easter egg as you say) like the Orb of Agamotto, or the Ultimate Nullifier, a Cosmic Cube, special edition Punisher chrome sidearm, or Cable's futuristic hand weapons, Thunderstrike's hammer, the Muramasa Blade or Exiles' Tallus or some of T Stark's girlfriends?

they could make huge plces like buldings and streets for a cool place to put your collection in or small areas like rooms to just make the room. and the danger room could have one area a jungle with like a dinosaur in the back or something and the other parts could have other things that you could put your x-men guys in front of like another scene. that would be pretty cool.

yeah, but i think they should be sold in boxes. something tells me the pieces wouldnt look good next to an iron man figure, or anyone else for that matter.

also, mattel kind of owns collect and connect, so how about BAP (Build a Playset), or as Norgarr said, BAA (Build an Area)?

it would be sold in a box. how would you fit something like that on a blister???

dude,...if youre that cheap to let a large scale, accessorized dio with a fig for 20.00 bucks go by......man. people are paying 15.00 for a hulk wave fig, and 20.00 for two packs, and 20.00 for the dio and fig is too much???....

This makes me think of the awesome Palisades Muppets and playsets and the Sesame Street line that never got off the ground.

And I automatically assumed you were thinking of doing this with the midget figures coming out next year. No way would they ever consider this for the defunct 6" line. And JmacQ is right about Hasbro putting out cheap plastic crap if they ever made these for the 3 3/4" line.

Star Wars fans have been asking for this kind of thing FOR EVER. Death Star connecting playsets. Cantina connecting playsets. Jabba's Palace playsets. You name it, SW fans have been begging for this stuff for over a decade. I don't think Hasbro wants to invest that kind of money in quality.

good ideas though.

i think that any character correct playset would be great. part of the background that i use in the action thread is from a smc figure. this could work if given the right tweek.

I love your backdrops. I want to make some of my own.

Great idea Pooda. Kind of taking the old ML stand idea to the next level. I miss the stands. Those early ones were often very cool. Made me sad that Storm got the cool cloud/lightening stand and Nightcrawler didn't even get a tiny "bamf" puff.

Working in some cool mounting clips and posing pegs like the old days would be nice, too.

GEEK
