New Black Spidey figure is Mcfarlane version????

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else think the new Black Spidey figure is the Mcfarlane version of Black Spidey? I mean I know the art work is based on the back in black comics that happend recently (around spiderman 3 the movie) But the Mcfarlane spidey (series 12) figure was also based on Campbelle art work. But we call it Mcfarlane Spidey anyway. I was looking at this new Red Hulk series Spidey next to some old Spidey comics Mcfarlane did. like the Two part sub city issues, And its dead on!!! the eye shape and the chest logo and shades of black dead on! So im calling him Mcfarlane Black Spidey and you all shold too haha! As we all refer to series 12 spidey Mcfarlane. If it had toe and finger articulation itd be even more amazing but looks wise down right best Black Spidey yet! IMO :)

I'd say theres probably similarities to the artwork because hes always drawn pretty much the same. SMC12 Spidey is called "mcfarlane spidey" because he is sculpted very stylistically, matching the proportions and style of mcfarlane (and campell, apparently). This black Spidey is pretty generic looking, so i wouldn't attribute it to any specific artist. But thats just me.

A Spidey who is McFarlane based is definitely something to behold. But then again if he can only stand flatfooted and cannot pose dynamically without the necessary finger and toe articulation, it really kinda defeats the purpose of being an action figure. so I'm getting the red and black reissue of McFarlane Spidey instead.

same but the paint on the black spidey in the red hulk wave looks way cool. they even got that blue mixed in there like in the comics.
