The Hulk Vs.

Recommended Posts

I was a little disappointed by the vs. Thor part but I liked the vs. Wolverine segment.

It was quite violent but also at times funny, mainly because of Deadpool. His response to Wolvie slicing of his arm was hilarious.

I watched the Youtube version. Thor was presented as a noble but soft viking man as opposed to the God of Thunder whose strength rivals the Hulk. I could go on and on about what didn't work about that one. I can't stand Wolverine at all. He's too overpowered and overused but I did like his story much better than Thor's. I especially liked the little part after the credits with Deadpool and....wait, I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it.

Thanks Pooda, I was finally able to watch it thru that link

Now, obviously from what I saw, and what I read on comments from Pygmalion, Green Lantern Prime, and the host of cats on Youtube, Veoh, and Watch-Movies, the Hulk beating the tar out of Thor doesn't fly with most folks. This whole thing with being rage incarnate has reached the roof and Marvel doesn't know how to reel it in. Just how mad can one get?? Shessh!!

You got cats who think the Hulk has never been defeated. Silver Surfer, Namor, the Abomination, Red Hulk, and Black Bolt must be apparitions then. The only reason why Thor has never officially beaten the Hulk in comics is because, hey rivalry sells. But these last few videos are ridiculous. First Ultimate Avengers 1, where Thor is taking it to the Hulk until the Hulk actually lifts the hammer. Then in the Avengers Next, nobody comments on Thor's power but everyone is "the Hulk is the strongest there is". Now this farce, where Hulk literally beats Thor through the base of a mountain. Thor is strong enough to take that type of beating but not strong enough to dish one out? This dude fights Surtur and Galactus for dolo on his off days, WTH?????

Needless to say, I was disappointed and that would prevent me from buying this DVD. But in all fairness, I have to save the rest of my tirade for when I finish watching the Wolverine part.

ok, while the Hulk vs Thor was sorely lacking, the Hulk vs Wolverine was that fire.

Everything from the voice casting, to the general look of the characters was well done.

Nice to see Omega Red in the storyline. And after watching the Wendigoes fight the Hulk in the Wolverine & the X-Men episode, I am glad to see that that they went in an entirely different direction with this epic on Canadian soil. Really nice. If only the Thor version was as tight.

And yeah, I must admit, Deadpool was one of the highlights of this flick. Best comic relief since Donkey & Puss in Shrek. Now this video is a must own.

Gotta agree with everyone else, the Thor part was lacking (although it was great to see so many characters from the mythos like the Warriors 3, Valkyrie, Lady Siff etc). Thank God they finished the double up with Wolverine. Anyone who is a fan of Wolvie and the X-Men will love how spot on the characters were and it's greatto see the old Canuckle Head dealt for a mature audience! Here's hoping Ryan Reynolds DP is half as hilarious as this one :)

oh dude, wolverine part kick-a$$, thor part was good too, but it was like undertune lord of the rings, i hope they'll do a deadpool movie, he is the best charecter to star in an action-comedy animated movie, and i would love to see an x-23 movie too, allthough i think the'll never do that, the best they might do is to let her co-star in a wolverine flick, but a dude can dream. :wolverine2:

I just watch Hulk vs. Wolverine and it was fantastic. Haven't had a chance to dissect it, but I loved the comic references and adult content. I wish they could do more Marvel stuff in this manner.

Well since guys like Mantlo and David took over for writing Hulk and not to mention since Pak took over there are very valid reasons that Hulk seems to have this endless well of anger. In order to truly understand this anger you can't look at Hulk fighting an opponent alone but also look at the man inside Hulk which is Banner. It is from Banner never finding peace within his life before or after the gamma bomb. He is constantly thrown in more sorrow because of his damaged psyche. As the Hulk vs. Thor movie shown where Banner was at peace when he was placed in hell but had it ripped from him this is a constant for Banner. The man who can never truly find happiness or peace. It is always taken from him because he must pychically wear the after affects of what his father did to him and also the murder of his father in self defense. Not only because of the Gamma bomb Banner remains cursed but because of a deranged father he could not control and a world even that rejects Banner/Hulk. I think that is enough to have an endless well of anger. To be constantly consumed in sorrow is enough to not put a roof on Hulk's anger. Because for endless torture there should also be endless anger with it. Itis very suiting for the character. If the sorrow and pain never ends why should his anger? It wouldn't make sense then you would lose the thought evocation that the Hulk character brings. Though many believe Hulk's character is about strength but really it's the sorrow behind what fuels the strength that makes the Hulk.

    • For me, it's not about "gotta have it now" it's more of a "grab it when you see it" because it won't get restocked. I have a list of figures I still don't have because I choose to get other figures first, and planned to come back later to get the others (Mysterio, Hela, Reed Richards) and others that I simply never saw on a peg ever (Cyclops, Colossus Juggernaut wave Wolverine)
    • for whatever reason, the Spider-Man Homecoming Vulture BaF wave is showing up in Duane Reades in Manhattan.   I'm guessing they heavily ordered that movie-themed wave, and are sending their excess out now.
    • It's that time of the year again guys. for the new guys we have strict rules As alway: DO NOT POST PICS OR LINK TO OTHER SITES. I know we all get excited when we read something on another site but please know that this site will post news and images on the main page. You are allow to write what other sites have reported, that fine as we know we can't stop you all from doing that but don't post any pics or link. That plus our boss get really mad at us lol :P Don't not make multiple thread discussing the same thing. Keep all Toyfair/SDCC/Hascon/NYCC news to this thread. If you have an opinion or even anger rant (come one we know some one will), please post it here. If we MODs see a thread like this one, it will be merged together with this one. Try and keep wishlist til after the Toyfair/SDCC/Hascon/NYCC (Sunday or Monday). We are not going to ban wishlist thread, in fact we like them, but there is really no point in making a list until we know all that is coming out. Also their will usually be the annual "Post SDCC/Hascon/NYCC Wishlist" Thread going up on Monday. NEW RULE! DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A MCU VS COMIC THREAD!! Over the past couple of month there has been an increase in threads going from talking about one particular topic into a thread filled with MCU VS Comic or Peg Cloggin. Keep this thread talking about the reveals and figures. Nothing else. BUT if you don't like the MCU figures revealed then you can say that. News:
    • Marvel Entertainment and IDW Publishing announced today that the two companies will develop middle-grade comic books designed for younger readers. Featuring some of Marvel’s most popular characters, the monthly issues and trade paperback collections, published by IDW, will be available for sale at local comic book shops and book retailers across the country, expanding opportunities for the next generation of Super Heroes to experience the Marvel Universe.

“From Iron Man to Captain Marvel, from the Hulk to Shuri — the Marvel pantheon has something for everyone,” says John Barber, editor-in-chief of IDW. “With this team-up, Marvel and IDW aim to bring exciting, all-new comics to a generation growing up in a Marvel world.”

Launching in November 2018, the Marvel and IDW collaboration will kick off with a Spider-Man series featuring both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, followed by an Avengers series beginning in December and a Black Panther series in January 2019. Each of these titles will serve as an easily-accessible jumping-on point for younger readers to follow the adventures of their favorite characters.

“Marvel is excited to work with IDW to share these brand-new stories with our younger fans,” said C.B. Cebulski, editor-in-chief of Marvel. “Characters like Spider-Man, Black Panther, and the Avengers inspire us through their strength and determination, but they resonate with readers because of the struggles they face and the challenges they overcome. We want to share their journeys with our younger fans first-hand.”

“Marvel is committed to delivering unique and accessible content for our younger audiences and fans,” said Sven Larsen, director, licensed publishing of Marvel. “As one of our most valued partners, IDW is the right fit to help us feature some of our most popular characters and publish stories created especially for the next generation of Super Heroes.”

“This partnership reflects the true spirit of collaboration at work,” said Greg Goldstein, president and publisher of IDW. “As comic book publishers, IDW and Marvel are able to produce high-quality visual storytelling experiences for fans both young and old. By combining our efforts, along with Marvel’s ever-increasing presence in popular culture, the results will be spectacular.”

Story details and creative teams for the new line of middle-grade comic books will be announced at a later date.
