So a female friend of mine apparently purchased me Jubilee for Christmas, which is awesome. What's not awesome?

 

JUBILEE HERSELF!

 

I was super careful removing her because of the worry about her arms. So I decided not to mess with her arms and just leave them how they are. No big deal to me. So as I am removing her...HER LEG FALLS OFF! I have spent the last 20 minutes trying to get it to reattach to no avail. It is almost like she was packed in without her leg even attached. Her left ankle looks as though somebody decided to break it and it heeled wrong.

 

I am officially peeved at this figure. Which is a shame, because her face? Looks great. Her arms are holding onto her body, granted because I am avoiding touching them. But her leg? Yeah it is refusing to go on. Anyone have any tips? Because this is frustrating.

You could try to heat the leg joints with a hair dryer or hot water and when the plastic is soft, reattach it then run it under cold water to freeze the joint in place. This will help with warped body parts as well. Hope this helps.

UPDATE: Well, her leg is back on but I'm going to let her sit all night after giving her an ice water bath where she was reattached. Hopefully it'll stiffen over night as she cools down and holds on. I'd love this figure if it was getting to the point I was afraid to touch her.

I will add this tidbit, I'm seeing full Avengers spreads at all of the local Krogers for 10 a pop...so if you were having any problem hunting down Fury, Chitauri, Widow, Hawkeye...might be a good place to look.

Haven't hunted in about two months. I've lost a lot of steam for this line, Hasblo has really dropped the ball. It's a week before Christmas and when I'm in Target shopping for other items all I see are the wave 2 packs with Silver Surfer/Dr. Strange - PEG WARMING. It doesn't look like anyone it touching them let alone buying them.

 

I've started collecting Sota SF figures. I've got a few, but if anyone has a character or two with there accessories in good condition, PM me. I still have that MU Deadpool 2 pack for trade.

My TRU is pathetic with just a couple Falcons and Submariners and some GotG packs. They restocked their Doom/Spidey and Rhino/Spideys, though.

 

Is it just me or has it been three Christmas in a row where it really seem like the MU pegs were not filled ahead of time?

Yeah Jason 1551, I also have the twenty dollar groupon to use by the 23rd. I am thinking if nothing new appears, I may finally buy the X-factor set or more likely I am going to help out Santa and get the remote control Umizoomi car for my daughter. I find that every time I buy these Groupons with the intent to add to my hobby I always end up finding things for my daughter (not complaining, I am fortunate to be able to do so, I just feel weird/cheap buying stuff for myself but using coupons for her)

Found the Future Foundation Doom & Spidey pack at my local TRU today. I was holding off on purchasing this online, and so that basically paid off.

 

 

My area is for once flush with figures, all of which I already have. I see Iron Patriots, Ghost Riders, Spider-men of various kinds, Beta Ray Bills, and Hulks galore. The TRU light-up base figures are all over the place. There are Mandarin/Iron Man comic packs, Wolverine/Hulk comic packs...It's all pretty impressive, considering the last time we got anything close to on-time was the Spider-woman/WWHulk/Captain Marvel wave. No Kangs or Scarlet Witches or She-Hulks, and no Jubilees or Blastaars, so we're not totally up-to-date, but we're closer than we've come in years.

 

Quality control on these TRU exclusive comic packs is pretty sketchy, though. Doom's arm was almost out of its socket before I even opened the thing. Couldn't see that before opening the box, either. Spidey has a frozen calf-joint.

 

 

I also saw the Avengers movie version of Ultimate Captain America--the one where he has the longer arms (big +). And--surprise!!!--he has single-jointed knees and no ankle articulation. I mean, all his parts come from the Captain America line. He couldn't maybe benefit from the available articulation there? They had to limit him like that why?

Meijer has MU figures for $7 each this week, didn't see anything I wanted in stock.

 

My Chogokin Aegis (About 5" tall?) arrived this week, love it. Found the Portal Turret blind boxes at my local comic store, love those too. Wave 6 MLP blind bags were at Walmart and Toys R Us too.

 

Best haul? NECA GORDON FREEMAN! Oh yes, it is good.

 

Now I'm just seeing if anyone wants to buy a set of SDCC Zarana before I cave and open them finally. I need cash to commission an expensive piece for an outfit for Steampunk Symposium... but eh. At this rate I might just open them.

 

Oh, and I have found a TON of Star Wars figures at various Toys R Us stores, got my vintage Aayla Secura finally. I might be done with buying 4" figures now and just start getting higher-end statues. My latest was the DC Direct New 52 Harley Quinn.

If I were you I would buy something now and then do a return or exchange for something else you want more later. TRU has a 90 return policy so use that to your advantage. I am sure that even if you do a return and not an exchange they would just put the full $20 on a TRU gift card for you

Walmart at North Point finally restocked their MU, but only had the remains of revision case that had Iron Man 2020 in it.

yeah just got in the mail a couple of those Avengers sets I grabbed on the cheap thru Walmart.com.....

 

I guess I wasn't so lucky....

 

ALOT of Iron-mans and Captain Americas (though Military Camouflage and the Snowboard look cool), but on the plus side I got a set of the Warriors 3 and the Destroyer between the 2 packs. Not horrible for 30 bucks, I know a bunch of toys going to Charity.

My sets were a bust. Two has the exact same figures, and the third had the comic Whiplash, Ultimate Iron Man, and modern War Machine plus comic colors Red Skull and regular Hydra trooper. Everything goes back Monday :(
