3 3/4" sighting and hauls

No wrists either. O_o

That Bishop figure look great. I just hate that there isn't any chest or waist articulation!!

Yes, that is a disappointment also! And the lack of detailed muscularity

For Bishop It's literally better than nothing though....Nice haul. That Spider-man Figure looks like Sh**. But I'll grab that Bishop and variant Sandmans..

Say a Deathhead at Kmart... it was the only MU figure they had.

Are you in the US? Because Kmart hasn't stocked MU for about 3 years now. I'll have to check there more often.

Yeah, this was in SoCal. I was surprised as well.

I got some of the new figures from China. Bishop, both Sandmen, and both Beasts.

Sandman is very fine. No complaints.

The new figures are very lightweight. The sculpts do look really good. The painting is not terrible, but it's all flat colors, with no shading or definition. Doesn't look quite like Marvel Universe figures in that respect.

Otherwise, all the things we've been grumbling about are true. I admit the sculpts are better, and more detailed than I'd given them credit for. But the articulation is taken waaaaaay down on these figures. No torso, no waist, very limited neck (these guys can only look side-to-side. There's less neck articulation than in Marvel Universe wave 1), no wrist. The bicep swivel is gone, replaced with the elbow swivel. For Beast especially, all this sucks. Bishop has his dinky arms that look really out of place, but Beast is the real mess; stiff, inarticulate.

The blue Beast is meant to look like the Jim Lee Beast from X-men #1, I believe. That open-mouthed expression comes from the page in that issue where he's throwing Wolverine--their version of the fastball special. I tried to articulate Beast to be able to do that. Suffice to say, it didn't work at all. Beast can't twist even slightly. without the bicep swivel or the neck articulation, he can't look like he's throwing anything.

To me, that's pretty disappointing. My Showdown Beast can certainly be posed for a fastball special. Also for a lot of other things.

Bishop also has very stiff, limited hip articulation. He can rotate a little bit, but he can't get out of that splayed-leg position, at all. The hip doesn't allow for that movement.

Met Joss Whedon today in Covent Gardens, London

Congrats man! I would be bragging too.

Thanks for the mini-review.

When you say the head can only move side to side, are you saying the Ball jointed head itself is now gone?

Yeah, please tell me these don't have swivel necks. They make headswapping impossible without tools. How is the plastic quality? Is it sturdy or do these have the rubbery plastic that feels like it might rip?

*edit to avoid double post*

I just found out the Marvel Select Watcher re-release is cancelled. Son of a #$%^&. I really wanted to avoid eBay prices on him, and Hasbro isn't going to be giving us one any time soon.

Completed my Groot with a K.O. body and actual limbs,

And scored a Sandman Sand Variant which was real way more than I'd like to admit. But not bad,

(Basically a Absorbing man with a Osborn head and new arms but good use of parts)

love the sand paint scheme.

There is a ball joint, but the area around the necks of these figures extend, and the heads themselves aren't bored out enough to allow for any movement but side-to-side. The figures can't look up or down, even a little bit. They fit so tightly, they only look left and right.

I noticed that all of the Marvel Select Watcher preorders (after being moved back month after month) have vanished. Is that the official word, that they've been cancelled, Stitch? That stinks. I was looking forward to adding him to my collection.

Yes. On a different site, someone who works for Diamond confirmed that the Watcher is cancelled. He hasn't said why, and I'm not sure if he can.

My BBTS preorder for Watcher is still showing, so I will not worry until they remove it.

Entertainment Eath lists cancelled. BBTS just says Preorder-Sold out.

After seeing the Ant-Man trailer, I'm really digging the suit. And hey, at least the 2.5" Ant-Man Hasbro makes will actually be in scale.

If life seems jolly rotten

There's something you've forgotten...

I found the Pop Vinyl Howard the Duck today, and I can't help but think that the body is perfect for a MU scale Howard. I just need to figure out what to use for a head.

    • Not a bad assortment, especially for a movie series. Not great, but not bad. Pretty sure my opinion will improve once we see pix.
    • I scored a blink today for 6$ :D im stoked
    • Ahhh that suuucks! I was going to say, when you cancel your old card, order a new card at the same time, and the purchase should automatically transfer to your new card. That's what happened with me when I lost a credit card and went to cancel it. I was afraid that all the things still outstanding that were tied to my old card would be lost. For example, I was still waiting for a refund to finish processing for an item I had returned. But all those leftover things were transferred to my new card so I didn't lose anything (despite not physically receiving my new card for several days). But it sounds like you had bad timing where Amazon attempted to charge it in the brief window in between your two cards. That sucks. It sounds like you're willing to pay a little bit more for the set since you offered to cover the shipping and also provide bonus stuff. If that's the case, why not just pay a bit more for the scalper prices on ebay? I see some going for an extra $40. That's not ideal, but I'll bet the prices will come down a bit if you wait some more as well. This boxset is brand new so the prices are high now and if you wait until it's more prevalent in the wild, it should come down. Or maybe even Amazon will change course and (re)allow shipping to the UK again after a while. Edit: Now I see that you already did address Ebay as an option. I would still say wait until the prices come down. Or maybe you'll find it for sale locally or on another website that will ship to UK.
    • yes, toy fair at the very earliest. Hell we haven't even gotten a trailer released to the public.
