My Silver Savage,

Waiting for the Green Scar to battle.

Made it my Silver Savage out of a Marvel Showdown Silver surfer and some minor sculpting. The body design of the figure lent more to the design than a MU one IMO.

I really like the figure, but the photo is not the greatest. I can't quite see all the details, but it still looks pretty damn cool.

I'm working on one of these too, but I kept the Showdown one for regular Surfer, and took the MU one for the Savage. I figure I'll eventually get another Surfer with Galactus whenever I find him, and I don't really need Savage until the Green Scar is released anyway.

Death's Head 2 head w.i.p.

Been wanting to make this character for a while.

Oh, that's already just awesome. I'm probably in the minority here, but I never liked the original Death's Head character design. Now DH2? As a kid, how could I not think that melty robotic skull wasn't the coolest thing ever? Can't wait to see this finished!

These are the parts I have available to do something with:

I have way too many Things, so one of them gets cut up for Super Skrull pieces, the other gets his cracks filled with putty to make an Awesome Android. The birds are going to be cut up into angel wings and glued to the Jungle-Viper's camo frame. Don't have a base for the Angel figure yet. Showdown Reed's head was used for Nick Fury, which left me with a Reed body & a SHIELD agent head (mostly useless). Moon Knight's body was used for Mysterio, leaving me a MK head and belt. Toy Biz Whirlwind is totally going on that Iron Man body, and I'll probably butcher my last regular Captain America for Whirlwind's legs & hands. I can replace him; he's easy to find. The Iron Man is the MU one, which is a little skinny, and it's loose as... well that metaphor is probably not appropriate for this forum. Let's just say it's loose. It spins real nice at the chest, which is an excellent gimmick feature for Whirlwind. Bazooka's head was used for Kraven, and really none of my excess heads fit him (too small). I want to do Crossbones with him, but the Jungle-Viper head is still too small for that bulky Bazooka torso. He'd be a pinhead. So here's what I came up with:

bases.jpg

The Jungle Viper body + Moon Knight head = The Ghost

Showdown Reed's body + Jungle-Viper head (plus Captain America shield, Thor hammer & maybe a swappable Thing arm) = Fusion (Spidey villain)

Iron Man body + Capt. America legs + Whirlwind head & blades = Whirlwind

What do you think? Resourceful?

Thanks guys. Onyx I have to agree w/ Brym on this one. Piledriver is MUCH too bulky to even be close to feminine (I even crossed the Guardian legs off the list as being too bulky). Keep in mind that the Ronin fig is a little on the tall side. I'll post some more comparison shots tomorrow.

Hey, Rod. I agree that the Piledriver figure is bulky, but I have to agree with Onyx about the "tall" issue. Have you considered using other legs to make her look taller? Or at least the lower legs. And don't worry about other legs being bulky. A little sanding on the sides can help.

She is according to my calculations 1/4" too short. Since She Hulk is 6'7" which at 18th scale is 4.35", and my fig is 4 1/8" or 4.125". So I am thinking maybe cracking her chest open again, and then cracking her abs. Then grab an extra Bucky I have, and replace her abs with his. I think this should fix the height issue. What do you guys think?

Here you go as you requested. http://customwargamepainting.com painted the wings for me. I think they came out pretty well.

Dr Strange is the nuts, ronnie. I happen to be painting Annihilus wings for my wing-less Dragon-Man too. It came from a CA yardsale via eBay though.

Thanks! Dr. Strange was a lot of fun to make. Be sure to post your finished DragonMan, too. I wanna see if you go the reddish color on the inside of the wings. I just went with the regular purplish-grey, because I was too lazy to mix up another color. Actually, I like these better than the original wings & paint anyway.

She Hulk *Upgrade*

Ok she wasn't tall enough before, and she had huge shoulders. So what I did was I cracked her chest, and abs open, and then I cracked Bucky open. I then realized that the Bucky shoulders would fit better, and that RoC Scarlett's head would look better. So I switched them out too. Now she is 4 3/8" or 4.375" tall. She is now still a tiny bit too short at a 1:18 scale of 6.5625 or 6'6 5/8". Though at this scale should we be arguing about 1:18 scale 3/8"? Nah she's close enough.

So Hasbro here's how it's done:

recipe

HEAD, AND FEET: RoC Scarlet w/ new sculpted hair

SHOULDERS, AND ABS: WWII Bucky

CHEST, AND HIPS:MJ

LEGS, AND ARMS: Black Spidey

So what do you guys think of her now?

Thanks I knew that even longer legs like Piledriver would just make her look bulkier, and more unbalanced but then I thought of the Bucky figure. Big feminine looks are basically small male looks with well T&A. So using parts from him might be just perfect. So the base of the Bucky fig torso didn't fit quite right but a tiny bit of carving, and voila. Perfect.
