I use acrylics from Wal-mart. I've been thinking about trying to track down 2 more Scarlet Spidey figs. One for Silver Surfer, and one for an improved Deadpool (though I might make him from a Cyke, or Comm Rogers), and then spray paint the Surfer silver, and the spray that w/ an acrylic clear coat, or I'll try to find some silver acrylic spray paint.

I used some of that Walmart paint.. I think the brand is PLAID... and it just scratched right off the figure with my fingernail ....

have you had different results?

What kind of paint do you guys use? I've tried the model kit enamels, and like Onyx they don't seem the best way to go. I like that Silver Surfer, although I still can't stand the head sculpt. I haven't seen a Silver Surfer figure I like yet though. It's too bad Hasbro won't made a body just for Silver Surfer that had a sense of the liquid like quality he has.

You never want to use enamels. Always stick with acrylic paint. I use Citadel or Model Masters.

I am using testors but am switching to citadel since I can pick it up in person rather than order it. Less paint in the Citadel but I like the pop tops better than the screw caps. As far as paint quality goes, I've been liking the citadel a lil more.

Call me crazy but I prefer Model Masters over Citadel. I used to like Cidatel over MM but I found MM is much easier to use because of its consistency. Although there are some Citadel colors that are far superior to any other brand i.e. Flesh tones.

These are my two latest attempts at customizing. First we have Defender/ New Avenger Doctor Strange and next is a Magneto with a better look than that repackage repaint that was just released. Let know what you guys think

I think now is a good time to make Ares. He's been on pretty much everyone's top 5 most wanted lists for at least a year and Hasbro still doesn't want to make him. I'm beginning to think they never will.

I think we are getting closer to an official Ares. They have the right mold for him now since they came out with Cable. In fact the Cable body can be used for a ton of other guys too! I'm currently working on 3 customs using this mold.

Thanks Fellas I had alot fun doing both and learning how to do some new stuff. I do have a couple of questions: What is a better mold for Angel use a Johnny Storm or a Jim Lee Cyclops. Also does anyone know how to make symbols and logos for the action figures for like Shield, Hydra, or the X-MEN? Or where can I buy them.

Head is Star Wars. Looks like one of the Imperial Guards (or whatever the guys dressed in blue are called).

Arms are from the new SF Ryu or Ken.

I think you may be right on the head, but the arms are MU Colossus (ridges sculpted over). the rest of the body is Cable.
