Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

This is the first run of my up coming "Fur Ball KIT"

001-191.jpg

I'm not quite ready to put this out yet due to problems I had w/ the torso. If the next run is perfect first try (since I think I fixed the problem I had w/ the mold) then I'll put it in the store the next day.

Look for this around Jan 7th at the latest.

I like your kit ideas!

Thanks, I already have ideas, and requests for a couple of modifications/ upgrade kits. Oh, and if I remember right you're the one who asked for these:

I'll add them this evening.

It's the 12 inch roto-cast figure of the Invisible Woman from the (I think) the 2nd Fantastic four movie.

thanks for the info, old yet kick ass toy, I'm guessing it would be expensive.

what's roto-cast?

They might be pricey now, but 6 years ago KB Toys (remember them?) were clearencing them for next to nothing. I did a Stature custom (not NEARLY as good as the ones above) using that figure.

Rotocast--I'm not sure the technical aspect but it's a method of plastic processing--usually created hollow pieces rather than solid. It's cheaper but not as durable.

Stands for Rotational Casting.

KB :( it's too bad they got bought and phased out, I would have liked another toy store to check.

I don't like the sound of this rotocasting! But I'm going to have to rip this custom off.

I'd kind of like to do a 6" size changer too with the idea that not all threats require you to be over 2 stories tall.

Back in the day. the original premise for "Black Goliath" was that he could grow to 15 feet, no more ("Fifteen Feet of Fighting Fury!"). Six inches on the MU scale would approximate that (9.3 inches is the number really needed). I'm thinking about a Legends Thunderball, or maybe just the Thunderball head on a Legends Falcon.

I've had an old Toy Biz 5inch Falcon figure (the one built on the pre-ML Spiderman line Daredevil figure) that I've been holding onto to make a slightly larger Black Goliath figure. I just haven't had the time and inclination. Same with the TRU dianmond form ML Emma Frost. I've wanted to make Big Zero from the Young Masters of Evil.

Couple more customs

Ares

IMG_1027.jpgBase - Absorbing Man

Lower Legs - Ultron

Left Arm - Thor

Hands - KMart 3 Pack Captain Britain

Head - Ultimate Magneto, rubber band, Storm's mohawk

Accessories - Rubberbands

Sentry and Norm in the background were simple head swaps with AOT Thor and IM2 Mark 5

That's an awesome Ares. There have been so many good ones but this is the first I've really wanted to do. Plan on changing it up a bit but had to thank you for the inspiration and the great job.

I want this Ares!

Amazing!

Fantastic job!

anyone know where the ares chest piece comes from?

It looks like what it says under "accessories" - a rubber band outline for the edge with thicker ones for the straps. The black is either just paint or a thin layer of green stuff. Pretty smart with the rubber bands, but they do tend to degrade over time. I wonder how they last?

This is the figure Hasbro could and should make right now. Don't know why they continue to hold off on this guy.

And that's a really nice custom!

I didn't even see that. Yeah I agree, rubberbands are a bad choice. I've used em on customs and had em rot on me.

I've seen a lot of ares customs and thought there might be a commonly used chest piece.

  • 6 months later...

2 questions - who was it that was working on the Arnim Zola custom? I was plotting to shamelessly ripoff your idea since I really dig weirdo characters like him. Just wondering about any updates.

Secondly, has anyone ordered from Onyx lately at all? I ordered a Bishop head in April/May and still haven't gotten it. Someone else around here had mentioned they were still waiting on an order form him a while ago as well I thought. Anyone know a contact for him other than on here(he hasn't posted in 6 months or so right?). It was only a few dollars but I REALLY want to get to that Bishop custom.

PsychoPirate was the one doing the Arnim Zola custom, using a Blastaar body and ML Arnim Zola BAF harness piece.

As far as ordering from Onyx, I did the same back in April and haven't heard anything since then.

He occasionally posts on his facebook group.

Yes, Onyx posts on FB. I just updated my mailing address with him from an order from the same timeframe. He can take a while when he is backlogged.

I am doing Arnim. I've ordered some parts and have been out of town this week. I still need to do something about arms. Feel free to borrow the ideas. Right now I'm looking at Blastaar torso, Legends BAF MODOK arms and legs, and the Legends Zola TV frame with a custom picture. I'll try to post progress when I get home this weekend.
