Many had their hydra TRU orders cancelled. Check your local stores. Mine got two cases last week. Today there were still 3 sets.

Also MJ two pack was available online TRU yesterday morning for a couple hours.

They just cancelled mine, second time this year. The first was my Aforce set which I ordered 3 minutes after it went on sale. I cant wait until they go out of business

That's strange that they would cancel so many orders. Did they really need to preserve that much stock for the stores? I bought 2 from the local TRU & it seriously looks like I'm the only one. They are literally littering the shelves in my area. I'm hoping they stay on the shelves so I can buy them up when they go on clearance.

My order got officially cancelled Friday - finally got an email from TRU. All the stores near me never got any cases. BTW we never got MJ 2-packs or Phoenix packs out here so is this item and others only exclusive to certain stores???

Someone cleaned out TRU for the Hydra 2-pack. I went there Monday, and saw they had 4 on the shelves, but I couldn't purchase right then. I went last night and 0. WTF

Found the vintage-wave at my TRU today. Wolvie and Ironman were gone but everyone else was there. They all looked good and I picked up Black Widow.

The vintage wave is in stores? What are they selling for? So far, all I've seen are the heavily inflated blood-sucker prices online.

I'm enough of a toy-whore that I'll consider buying minor redecos of figures I already have, but not enough to pay regular (or scalper) ML prices for a minor redeco with no BAF and minimal accessories.

Right. $19.99 with no BAF. Any of you STILL maintain Build-A-Figures aren't extra or free? Or will the convenient "we're being ripped off with the Vintage wave" excuse be utilized?

Well, I'm out. I'll go 19.99 for a standard release figure or an exclusive, but for a repaint? No thanks, I already give Hasbro my money, they don't have to pick my pocket.

I might have gone for the Black Widow at that price, but with the bike figure coming out, no thanks.

I'll always maintain that Hasbro doesn't "give" us $#!+. This wave is nothing more than a test wave. They are testing the waters to see exactly how much they can exploit the marquee characters so they can repack & reuse existing figures without the added cost of a BAF and make a few extra dollars in the process. Basically, they are seeing how much they can get away with before the customer base starts to complain. If it tests well, expect many "Vintage" waves in the future. It'll end up being more or less a supplemental line, similar to the MU line, to offset costs and assist funding the ML main line. It's not particularly my favorite type of approach, but from a business standpoint it's a pretty ingenious strategy and anything that will help extend the longevity of the ML brand is alright by me.

I personally don't have use for another CA or another pygmy IM, but I'll pick up the Black widow, bag the ginormous MJ head sculpt & use the alt. head sculpt from the BW biker set and end up with 2 decent comic BW figures which we've not seen one of since the 2 pack with Winter Soldier years ago. To each his own, if you like the character or if you missed the previous one, here's your chance to get the figures you want without the need to purchase the entire set for the BAF piece.

As far as the BAF lovers, myself included, don't you worry. The BAF is not going anywhere within the main ML line. It's not a bonus, it's a gimmick, and an awesome one, and an incentive for us to purchase the entire wave & rubbish figures that we don't necessarily want in order to complete the larger & sometimes more complicated smaller figures that might not otherwise ever see the light of day. Figures like Mordo & Astral Strange and Scourge & wierdo Secret Captain America and the 3rd Starlord & MCU Electro owe their very lives to the BAF. It's a system that makes Marvel/Disney happy, it makes the fans happy, it makes the characters & creators happy & most of all, it makes me happy. So it's here to stay. Even if it goes to a format of alternating between larger and more standard size figures, as long as it's new or different, they got me. Now make me a damn Strong Guy!

Well if it's the test you theorize it is, if it's successful, it may render your end post wrong because then they (Hasbro) will know they can "get away" with no "extra" or "free" figures. I disagree with your sentiment about waiting until the complaints begin, simply because we never have to wait at all. The complaints always (without fail) begin from jump! Remember, we're talking about Marvel Legends collectors. The only people on the planet who don't have to buy a product, complain about it then buy it again (or more bizarrely, catch a review, THEN complain and STILL go out and buy it).

How you ended your post is the most accurate description of what the Build-A-Figure is, and that is a "gimmick". This is why I've railed against the people who complain about the size of the BAF and about the people who believe we're "entitled" to "extra" or "free" figures. No one has EVER been entitled to a gimmick. Who would want to be?

Forgive me if the question is stupid, but I haven't seen any pics or videos on the retro Wolverine yet. Are the claws removable like on the Juggernaut wave Wolvie? I eventually want to get him (especially for the unmasked head). But don't want to get him to find the claws are permanently attached.
