nemesis wave found in mobile alabama

Recommended Posts

I did hear something about a few Punisher variants escaping and making their way into some very few cases of the 2nd and 3rd deliveries of the Ares Wave and a few even made thier way to Ebay, but never heard anything such about the DD figures or the regular Punisher. Afraid I'm gonna hafta play the BS card.

I'm not sure how all those outlet and overstock stores come a, but it's pretty wierd the things you sometimes find in them. I imagine items are bought in a bulk auction type situation and then shipped out to various nonspecific locations.

I've hit gold at a few outlets, but one in particular. I know some of you or maybe most of you will call BS, I know I do quite often on this forum, but I swear by this particular story. Once, out of pure happenstance, while shopping with my girlfriend (who's now my wife) at an outlet store called Tuesday Morning (TX and NM) I happened on a treasure trove of Giant Man Series Thor, Warbird, Kitty Pryde and a few AoA Wolvie Variant figures just being put out. The "Walmart Exclusive" stickers had clearly been removed before they had reached this destination and were priced at $3.99. Knowing that they were worth their weight in gold, I immediately bought up 90% of the stock at the protest of my girlfriend. I litterally walked two shops down to the comic store sold them 3 of each figure (only 1 Wolvie) @ $12.00 a pop and then put the rest on Ebay. I made a killing, particularly with the AoAW Variant which you will recall is the only way to finish the BAF. Hope I didn't gouge anyone here. I even had enough left over to make a few decent customs. The Warbird/Phoenix body is the best overall female base ever.

Previous to that I had similar finds, though not to the same extent, with the pre-ML Blink figure @ a place called Lots-0ff and with the McFarlane Tiffany figure @ a place called Fallas Paredes. I have found various figures at some of the big chain outlets like TJ Maxx and Big Lots, but only the truely over produced crap that no one wants like Quicksilver and Bullseye though I did buy quite a few for customs ($6.00 each).

Moral of the story is, yes quite a few outlets get ML and other figures at times, but it seems the rare finds show up in the smaller stores. So, though the TJ Maxx's and Big Lots are always worth checking, it may be worth your while to check out some of the lesser known stores.
