ml vs mu

Man, now I remember why I left this forum for a period of time. I'm SICK of whiny people constantly complaining about the lack of ML, and I'm also sick of the constant QQ when it comes to Marvel Universe. Don't like it? THEN DON'T FRICKIN' BUY IT! ML is coming back next year, and hopefully Hasbro will eventually be able to produce all those figures they showed at SDCC.

I do have one complaint about ML though: isn't anybody else here sick of seeing the Bullseye body being reused for everyone and their mother?

DUDE! the reason we complain is so that hasbro sees they are being retarted

if we don't say anything then hasbro can't see how they are doing

the problem is hasbro never listens!!!!!!!!!

it pisses me off !!!!

why the hell would people want puny little figures? it just doesn't make sense to me at all!

i mean i have a whole collection of legends and I want to grow that collection but they little figures are infecting the the action figure universe!

The biggest reason for complaint is the pricing! damn like 8 bucks for a little piece of crap!

some of the big characters are desent like the new thor and captain america but i will never buy them at that ridiculous price

COME ON HASBRO LISTEN PLEASE IM BEGGING

MU SUCKS

KILL IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm all for the marvel legends fans whining and complaining, just as long as they keep it on their side of the board :).

i think what hasbro has shown/done with ml at sdcc is a testament to their will to keep the line alive, even with middling support. as long as legends collectors are willing to put up with rising prices and decreased availability, then ml will remain. i don't think complaining about reused parts will help matters, though. most toy lines reuse molds (heck, the entire dcuc line shares 2 molds); it's not a bad thing if it gets more figures out there and keeps the line running, imo.

Do you want cheese with that whine?

Seriously dude if you don't like MU then don't buy MU and stick to ML. I buy both and I enjoy both. I have almost every single ML made and I didn't go ape #$@# over the MU...I embraced it. Eh who am I kidding, you can't talk to haters.

I thought the main reason we complain here in the Marvel Legends forum is because we're loyal to Marvel Legends. Stop telling us if we don't like them, then don't buy them. I think we've made it obvious that we're not buying them.

Wait the reason you complain is because your loyal to Marvel Legends? You treat this like it's a girlfriend. Marvel Legends won't break up with you if you look at Marvel Universe lol. Seriously though you don't buy these figures yet you complain about them in threads, wow. As I said before I have collected ML since they came out and have almost every single figure lining up in my shelves in my house but I can enjoy MU too.

P.S. Don't like them don't buy them haha

Yeah, the Bullseye body has been overused. However, it looks like Hasbro is going to beat it with the MU Daredevil body. That thing's everywhere.

Who cares if they reuse the same body??? Its not the same character. As long as they bring on new characters they can reuse all they want !!!!

Its quite simple, most of us don't have the time, money or patience to start over with marvel U.

Its because of people like you that decided to buy the puniverse that we are now stuck with this crap !

If everybody had stayed away from it , it would have boomed and it would be over with.(Then again with hasbro you never know, those crappy transformers crossovers are clogging the pegs, they can't even give them away, and there still releasing more???? Go figure).

Just think of it this way, it will be more money in our pockets to use for something else.

yeah i agree i don't care what the series is called. It doesn't matter to me and of course im not going to buy the mu figures if i don't like them and that still isn't the point.

what i think is my biggest disapointment is that now everything is going to be small :(

I was looking forward to iron man 2 so much so that i could buy their interpretation of whiplash action figure and display it in my collection....

but then i got horrible news that they were gonna be like an inch tall

i would have just liked them to keep a series of taller movie lines thats all

by the way the only way i would buy a mu action figure is if i find some at the flea market for like 25 cents each. i bet the people selling them think they are happy meal toys anyways :)

ELECTRO16! it couldn't have been said any better!

i boycott these pethetic excuses for action figures (that was harsh)

man i really hoped these where going to fail but i knew kids would love this crap and so would parents so this line isn't really even for us its for kids

these toys would have been recived better if they where all like exclusive and stuf but i don't know or care anymore

im just tyred of these toys

No.

It's because MU caters to kids; ie a broader audience rather than just collectors.

Also, they can fit more in a case which means less shipping costs per fig. They can fit more on a peg which means more space for other stuff for the retail stores.

Lol, people like me haha. Seriously dude get over it, their just figures, you make this sound like more then it is. If IT weren't for people like me as you put it then Marvel Legends would have set on shelves too, don't forget I was buying Marvel Legends from day one and have almost all the figures.

Being the huge Star Wars and GI JOE collector I am, I can dig the Mu line because it fits with so much stuff I have. but Marvel Legends were my first big passion and I still love them. Hell the other day I dusted all my figures and got a real kick out of posing them in a battle with my Marvel Select Hulk. I can support two lines because I enjoy both sizes. Marvel Legends will always be my favorite, hell Marvel Comics is my favorite thing every, so having the figures in every scale is awesome in my book. Hey until you have tried posing your MU with Galactus, Sentinel or Giant Man...you haven't lived.

i like marvel over dc but dcuc fans i would say are a lot patient i guess. that line practically uses the same body over and over but dcuc fans dont complain as much.

anyways, i agree with over thinking the name. come on now, theres a lot of characters in ML that aren't LEGENDS.

how did x-23 (at the time, toybiz) become a legend, i know shes kicking ass recently because of the x-force comic. or DOOP, hes not a legend. xorn, danger, new avenger. NOT LEGENDS IN MY BOOK. so has nothing to do with the names.

Basically, I stopped collecting ML because their consistency stopped. so instead of being a completist, i now just get whoever i like which is 2 figures a wave.

MU looks more promising, and ive already collected everything from every latest wave, so i can't stop now.

Maybe you have money to spend on both Marvel Legends and MU, Riddick. But I don't. I'm not going to switch to a different scale after spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on 6" figures. I'll just live with what I have. If they make more ML, I'll get them, and I'll continue getting DC figures that I can fit into my storylines when I play with my toys.

As far as complaining...haven't you noticed that's just about all the internet is? Complaining and porno.

Pros for ML:

They are trend setters

brought in the 6 inch craze

very poseable

gave me many of my favorite Avengers characters (YES!!!!)

used to come with comic books, accessories, and a dio or BAF piece, all for under 10 bucks (what happened???)

Cons for ML:

Not available until 2010 and beyond

seem to be getting smaller

and I hate that darn Hasbro hip-joint. GI Joe never gave me trouble posing their legs, sheesh!!!

Handled by Hasbro!!!

Pros for MU:

Smaller, so they are easy to reference with other collectible lines like GI Joe & Star Wars

easy to find vehicles and playsets for

cost less than MLs, but not by much

can actually found in stores

have plenty of characters available to choose from

Cons for MU:

cost too much for some 4 inch figs

replacing (for the moment) MLs

tiny little buggers

already starting with 5 versions of Spidey, Iron-Man, & Wolvie in a very

young line. Chill Hasbro, chill!!!

Not yet convinced or jumped ship to MU. Why? Scales issues the same with ML. Wolverine is a tall dude. Punisher is downright ugly. Ironman looks wonky with that helmet and anorexic (same with classic one). The Extremis version looks better though. Even classic Thor sculpt looks very amateurish. Have they seen the Super Hero Showdown version?? The Hand Ninja is taller than most figures (these should be small Asian dudes). Warpath looks small, or is it because he is posed with the Hand ninjas? Spiderman's head sits so high and has a tiny fist. Iron Fist looks taller than most characters?? I don't like the Silver Surfer's bug eyes (they work better with Yellowjacket or the Hydra goons). The Hulk . . . don't get me started on the HULK. I prefer a downscaled version of the Movie Hulk's sculpt. That is a perfect Hulk sculpt IMO (barring the FO Hulk). Johnny Storm is among the tallest normal sized figure group along with that Hand Ninja and the Iron Fist. And they are supposedly 5' 10" (shorter than most super heroes). Daredevil in comparison is a shorty with the stubby legs and steroid thighs. The SuperHero Showdown version has better proportions. These figures need a lot of work in my opinion. The only figure I have from the line is Black Panther (I wish they had ball hips) and W XO figures Deadpool and TS Wolverine which pay attention to their proper scaling and sculpt to resemble their comic counterparts.

A lot of these MU figures has a defect I am now just noticing particularly on the Daredevil figure and Bullseye figure. They're both short and stubby looking and most of all . . . . they have CANKLES !! Do you know how unappealing those look on these figures? Hasbro got to solve that problem because I don't see them on the W:XO figures at all. And the reuse of the same Daredevil body would guess what ?? . . . spread the cankle problem to other figures as well, namely Wave 5 Namor and so on and so forth. So there ya go Hasbro put those sculptors back to work. . . and resolve the cankle issue.
