New Customizable Action Figure!

A new company, Go Native Toys, has released "Alpha", the first in the ongoing series of customizable action figure base bodies called "Blanx." These figures are designed to be a great starting point for action figure customizers. They are also useful for modelers, sculptors, diorama builders, and even as an artists pose mannequin, due to the infinite number of poses they can achieve.

This first figure is in the 1/18th or 3 3/4 inch scale, and constructed with the familiar and easily customizable O-ring body style. He is highly articulated with hinged ankles, double hinged knees, knee swivel, ball hips, pivot waist, ball shoulders, hinged elbows, elbow swivel, rotating wrist, ball neck lower, and ball neck upper. All joints are designed and sculpted to have a very high range of motion, allowing for realistic, dynamic, and extreme poses.

Alpha is packaged with two extra sets of hands, one with fingers outstretched, the other in a karate chop position. He also comes with an extra "masked" head.

He is cast in a neutral gray and fleshtone for ease of painting in any shade. The entire surface of the figure also has a very slight texture to better allow paint and glue to adhere.

The Go Native Toys Website, www.gonativetoys.com features a gallery of custom action figures done with the Blanx bodies. Customizers will be able to submit their own custom action figures done on the Alpha body base, and as they become available, the other bodies in the Blanx series. Of all the customers figures submitted, there will be a "Featured Custom" selected periodically, which will be prominently shown on the site homepage. The creator of each of the figures selected for the featured custom will also receive a free Blanx figure!

There is also a voting section where artists and customizers can vote for the next figure released in the series. Upcoming prototypes are previewed there. Future Blanx figures will all be constructed in the same manner as Alpha, allowing for exchanging of nearly all body parts, further increasing the limitless possibilities of characters that can be created!

I like what I see... but when will the other bodies be out? I wouldn't mind using those for my X-Factor customs. They need some smaller bodies for characters like Wolfsbane, Jubilee, and whatnot

The other figures will be produced if the sales on Alpha are strong enough. Go to the site and vote on the next one you would like to see. And while you're there, order one!

Has anyone purchased one yet? Someone over at Hisstank.com reported that the quality is terrible and that the things torso cracked and it literally fell apart shortly after removing it from the package (he says that it's held together with a screw like the old GI Joe figures and that the thing was stripped when he got it). He also stated that the figure is not true 1/18 scale. It's shorter than most Marvel U and GI Joe figures measuring in at about 3 inches. Can anyone confirm or deny these claims?
