Best Thor figure?

Ah, a topic I have strong opinions on:) Not to mention Thor is my favorite Marvel character. For scale (meaning height as well as bone structure and muscle mass) that fits best with the other correctly scaled 6'5" - 6'7" muscular Marvel characters (Hercules, Bishop, She Hulk, etc), the TB Series 3 Thor is still the best and has those great, classic, detailed TB paint apps. Lord Thor would have been great if TB would have made him as originally planned (there were Toyfare/Comicon pics of the prototype one by TB - yeah, yeah, prototypes don't always equal production figs, but TB proved they would/could do the apps, so they deserve the benefit of the doubt). But Hasbro ended up putting him out and there are no detail paint apps at all and he looks cheap. The 'scale' is good though. The Giant Man Wave one is best considered a 'first appearance' figure in my mind as he is grossly undersized in every aspect of 'scale' as I have defined here. I know many like him, but he simply doesn't cut it in scale terms and I and others have problems keeping him standing up with the lousy, palsiated stance he is molded into. The Marvel Select one is great for the modern look. He is a little too tall in 'scale' and of course doesn't have the articulation the Legends do. Hope that helps.

my fave is the Giant-Man Thor.

He looks like Thor,

Yes, he should be bigger and a tad bit more muscle bound, but he is awesome!

I like Lord Thor, but I was never a big fan of the beard, but he is worth getting.

I don't own the MS Modern Thor, but he looks great. Just not sure how articulated he is.

The thing is, all the Thor figures are kind of pricey, so choose wisely ... your pocket will feel the weight.

Awesome! Thanks so much for everyone's opinions.

I was originally leaning towards trying to track down a Giant Man Thor, but I had no idea about the scale issues. Since 99.9% of my Marvel collection are Hulk related figures and figures who have gone a few rounds with the Hulk, Giant man Thor's scale would be even more noticeable because he looks like he'll be dwarfed by She-Hulk and possibly Doc Samson too.

A close second was the MS Modern Thor, but I'm always a little weary of new costumes and their lasting appeal.

Thanks to the pics & opinions ML 3 Thor is growing on me......except for the fact that it looks like he's wearing blush on his cheeks. My first thought was that the older figure might be showing it's age when stacked up against newer offerings, but it seems I was wrong about that.

I'd love to see those pics...

I'll look and post here sometime this weekend... I should still have them.

I personally prefer the Giant Man Series Thor. He might not be the best scale wise but I think he is the best classic Thor interpretation to date

Agreed, he just screams Thor to me, the ML3 one may be larger but he just doesn't seem like Thor, main reason i never looked for him on the after market heh.

Every time i look at ML Thor series 3 i want to yell, GET TO THE CHOPPER! Arnold dressed like thor.
