best Iron Monger

picking up a few of the 6' Iron Man 1 figures. Overall, which was the best Iron Monger representation?? Thanks in advance!

I think they only made one and thats the one from the Iron Man series 1 and they just changed up the colors.

nope. there are two versions. one has a cockpit you can open and see the guy inside. the other has a punch action feature (this is the one i have); iirc, it came in two versions - one with a red chest circle and one with a blue chest circle. it was later released as a blue repaint; then it was repainted with red/gold Iron Man colors and renamed as well (forget the name right now).

They made two if I'm not mistaken the first one had an action feature and the second was more articulated and you could remove the the front upper part to reveal Stane inside. Then they repainted one of them a couple of times one in blue as a poor attempt to give us a comic one and one in red and gold as some sort of Iron Man armor. That's it from the top of my head I don't know if there were more and to be honest I don't own either so I can't really tell which one is better from what I've seen they're decent figures; maybe you could check the database on this site.

there are as stated 2 versions of the Iron Monger. The 2nd release had a removeable cockpit. It had normal leg articulation. I bypassed that one and took the first edition with the limited articulation in the leg due to the smashing fist/ twisting action feature. The reason why was that 1st version of Iron Monger had a red uni-beam and red eyes. For me, it made him look a bit more villainous.

Now i wish Hasbro made a comic accurate version like the one released for the 4 -inch IM figs but in the 6-inch scale. Then we would all be happy!

As stated several time there are two main Iron Mongers, the blue repaint, and the red and gold repaint. Ditching the red/gold one and the blue one, let's just talk the first two. I own both, and I can say that the opening cock pit it by far better. The punching action gimmick monger was the first one I bought, and has extremely limited articulation. Because of this, when trying to put it in any poses with other figures... is just near impossible. He can stand there, and point his hands, that's about it. I was very disappointed and so I went out and bought the opening cockpit one. I wasn't a huge fan of the new paint job, and the sticker for an arc reactor, but hey, I'm not complaining. Well anyway, the opening cockpit one is fully articulate, with the exception of the head. The head doesn't move at all. That is kind of annoying also, but the torso can rotate so it kind of makes up for that. Barely. Oh, and the cockpit does pop up often. Sometimes it will randomly just come loose, which makes posing it annoying too. But since I didn't really care for the Stane head in the middle, I just super glued it close :D. Haha. So, after this long rant. I would say the cock pit version. But if you don't mind your monger just standing there straight up, and you really really like the red/blue arc reactor, I would say get the punching gimmick one. Hope this helped!
