Predictions for the MU panel on Saturday?

Recommended Posts

with the great images of the figures revealed at preview night, it has gotten very exciting the past few days. with so much out there already it really make you wonder what else will be revealed during the slideshow. what are you hopes and wishes based on what has already been confirmed?

1. one thing that I have been looking for has been the variant Luke cage and black widow. those have seem to gome forgotten for the past two years

2. I hope for some variants of Beast & Psylocke

3. Maybe some other wanted figures like Ares, Emma Frost, Rogue, Bishop, Nova, Prof X

4. more females using the new mold: Emma Frost, Rogue, Mockingbird, Scarlet witch, She-Hulk, Red She-hulk, Wasp, Sharon Carter, Silver sable, Black Cat, Misty Knight

5. more villians, Kang, Baron Zemo, Bastion, Sebastian Shaw, Abomination, Omega Red, Annihilus, Vulcan, Sinister Six, etc...

6. more cosmic characters, Blackbolt, Ronan, Quasar, Genis Vell, Phyla Vell, Medusa, Deathbird, Terrax, Firelord, Gamora, Kree soldier, Shi'ar soldier, Super skrull, Blastaar, Starfox etc...

Im hoping for some sort of buildings or base.Im hoping they will release more figures in each wave kind of like star wars, since they seem to use the same body parts on characters. even though we will never see it but im hoping for anti-venom and Carnage Surfer/ CosmicCarnage and Prof. X in his yellow cart.

Basically you're predicting more characters? I was surprised at how X-heavy (i'm glad for it, personally) upcoming releases are going to be, so I would assume more Avengers-type releases coming up, especially as things gear up for the movie. Maybe we'll see more movie figures, avengers figures, and perhaps next year's "theme" (if they're still doing those, like Fury-SHIELD, HAMMER, Rogers-SHIELD... maybe it'll be Hydra or Skrull?). I am not going to get my hopes too high just because we saw some killer stuff already and people usually dream bigger than the reality.

I'm predicting we've seen everything we're going to until next year's SDCC or whatever major show there is inbetween. That is a ton of new product for them to put out there, and I just don't see Hasbro having something else held back right now.

I also predict we will get vague cryptic answers to any of our questions revolving around things like unseen variants or possible up coming characters.

Well a Death's Head(classic or modern),Omega Red and Venom would be nice ^^

Another female character I hope they reveal soon is Rogue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know if they do it'll most likly be jim lee's Rogue which is ok but i'd prefer late 80s Rogue or atleast have 80s rogue as a classic veriant sorta like what they did with Havok.

Late 80s Rogue is best Rogue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a Marvel panel, not just MU, so I'm actually hoping to see a few other things too:

- Announcement of an Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon line.

- Announcement of a small Ghost Rider 2 line.

- A revival of Mighty Muggs at retail.

- Explain what's up with the retail Sentinel.

My only prediction is She-Hulk just because she has been talked about so much before now and we still have no info on her. Beyond that I think everything is up in the air.

If they address one thing, I'd like them to explain why they can't type name cards with availability dates correctly...and if the dates are correct...why I can't go to the store now and buy those 2 packs...

If they address one thing.

My predictions:

The MU line will be more focused on X-Men and non-Avengers figures, while the Avengers Comic Series line will allow for some of the much-clamored for and possibly obscure heroes and villians that have yet to be made.

Other planned MU figures will include Ares, Nova, Professor X, Rogue, Bishop, and Emma Frost.

The next Masterpiece figure will be The Watcher. He will be packaged with Thunderbolt.

They will show or announce a Scarlet Witch/Vision (white costume) comic pack. Seems fairly obvious given the Wonderman/Quicksilver 2-Pack, and it would tie into either the MU or Avengers movie lines.

All these things will be in the slideshow rather than a Q&A session.

I'm hoping for more women and villains in the slide show. I don't care whether they're X-men or Avengers or Thunderbolts or whatever; I just want more women, more villains.

I suppose my main hopes are for Emma Frost, Rogue and Ares. In some form, coming some time in the next year. I hope. And some explanation of what they intend to do with the new female mold if they're not planning to use it to make more figures.

Agreed but I would change that Altas and Citizen V to Clint Barton's Goliath and a New Black Panther.

I would love if the slide show contained any of the following: Kingpin, Emma Frost, Rogue, Kang, Baron Zemo, Mysterio, Herc, Ares, or Chameleon.

I still need to return the black Bullseye I just bought on Tuesday. I'm glad I didn't have time to open him up! I'm so excited for that two pack. Now give me Kingpin/Elektra to go with it!

I still want that masterworks figure to be Fin Fang Foom packed with the Mandarin that saw almost no retail release.

That's a good one Comacaz, easy to do and would sell like hot cakes!! I bet they do that one eventually for sure, put some shorts on Foom and tweak the paint on Mandarin because that what Hasbro does and it's on the shelves.

powerman's got some good guesses at those 3 packs, especially that one with She-Hulk, Red She-Hulk and Rulk, I"m about ready to put a Hopeful Cable on the betting table that we might see that one in the slides!! Same goes for the Stature with retooled Vision!!

    • I had my Surfer order canceled too. I was so mad. The customer service person gave me the runaround on why. Apparently they took more orders than what they had in stock. We have computers now. How the f@#$ does that happen?
    • ShartimusPrime takes a look at the new Marvel Legends Sp//dr Build-A-Figure which is part of the newest Spider-Man themed wave from Hasbro. The figures in this wave include Doc Ock, Cloak, Dagger, All-New All-Different Daredevil, Elektra, House Of M Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider. You can purchase these figures now at Megalopolis.Toys.

Check out hi-res images for this figure below in our GALLERY!
    • Gunn said something stupid and for once in the history of forever a d**k got what he had coming. End of story. Personal responsibility. Pass it on.
    • Since he was so sorry and apologetic about his tweets,  why not delete them? And this whole "I was being a provocateur" excuse is laughable. The reality is that the things he said we're so reprehensible and perverse there was no believable explanation he could offer,  so he just said he was joking... Yes, joking about serious issues does not immediately mean that the person is involved in them. I'll give you that,  but this wasn't just one tweet,  this was a whole series of horrible tweets, not one of which was funny in any way, all revolving around the same subject,  pedophilia. Which should raise a Red flag in most people's eyes. Often where there is smoke, there is fire. Especially in Hollywood. Have you ever heard of anyone by the name Weinstein, Spacey, or Singer? I agree that people can certainly change,  but why not go back and delete those tweets? The mere fact that Gunn left these up on twitter, suggests to me that he was never all that concerned or apologetic about their content. If I was to tweet something awful, get called out on it, and was truly apologetic, I would go out of my way to remove the offensive tweets. And while I know the GOTG cast has said he isn't the same person he was back then, let's not pretend that any of the cast actually know what Gunn does in his private life. My opinion on Dave Bautista is just that,  an opinion and I stand by it.
Gunn is the one who really mishandled this situation. A public figure like Gunn should know his tweets will be held to a higher standard & yes these vile tweets will probably define him for some time, quite fairly in my opinion. However,  I don't think this sends a message to your average person,  that no matter how much they've changed as a person they'll always be defined by their lowest point, as they are simply regular people & not public figures like Gunn, the millionaire Hollywood director. The sheer volume & subject matter of Gunn's tweets were beyond awful & extremely disturbing. A public figure like Gunn should know better than to post these sort of things that would come come back to haunt him, & had he been sorry enough for tweeting about how much he enjoy's little boys touching his "naughty place", he would have deleted them, however here we are today & it feels like more than anything else,  he's sorry he got caught.
    • Gunn did explain the purpose behind those tweets, expressing that his intention those years ago was to act as a provocateur. He additionally had already apologized for his raunchy attempts at humor. I don't think that joking about serious issues in such a way necessarily means that a person has a thing for them, especially if the purpose of those "jokes" is to cause a reaction. It's making a joke which is offensive for the sake of it being offensive, and not necessarily to insinuate some kind of depraved fetish. There have been many news of idiot tourists making the Nazi salute in Germany, which doesn't automatically entail they're Nazis. They're just idiots (at the very least, hopefully). I believe this is a similar case with James Gunn.

His tweets are disgusting, and don't say anything nice about the person he was in 2010. However, Gunn himself and the people he has closely worked with for over five years expressed that he has changed and that he's no longer the kind of person those tweets reflect. I don't think any kind of conclusion from this incident should be made without taking those people into account. And I don't think it's appropriate to assume Dave Bautista is depraved solely based on his stance from this situation. He knows much more about James Gunn than the slim portion most people get to see. Gunn's situation has been mishandled for the most part by people online, and shows a toxic mentality. It tells people that it doesn't matter how much they have changed as a person, their lowest point will always define them. And just in case there's any doubt, I don't mean to defend James Gunn's tweets, or the type of "humor" we waved like a flag back then. I don't even want to pretend to know what course of action Disney should've taken. It's a slippery slope, but there should be some balance between painting him as a misunderstood saint and a depraved would-be child-molester.
