Is scalping morally wrong?

I re-sell all the time. It's pays for my hobby of collecting which by all means isn't cheap. I've had to purchase from other re-sellers to complete collections so I find nothing wrong with it. It's my choice to purchase what I want to buy and if I want to re-sell then that's my choice.

I don't pretend to have any right to tell others what to do with their money, but I think the typical scalper is VERY wrong. That being said I would absolutely pick up figures for someone who was having a hard time finding them in their area, and I probably WOULD charge a small premium to cover gas, but we're talking 5-10 bucks tops.

 

The problem with scalpers (or at least the ones I've seen) is that they essentially ruin the joy of getting figures for 2 groups, the collectors like us, and of course the children. I just could not see myself buying cases of figures strictly to sell at profit for myself. and I've seen it happen where a scalper will swipe figs right out from under a child. I realize this sounds preachy and I apologize for that, but I'm a big fan of the "pure" collecting game, it's just so much fun!
