So is Galactus inevitable?

First just cause something can has more articulation does not mean it's better. In fact in this case it can make the figure loose and disproportioned.

Second, the Hasbro has tons of sculpt, if not the same amount of sculpt as the TB one. The Sculpt is just different as they based it on a more modern version.

Lastly, Of course a larger Galactus is better. He is usually the size of a sky scrapper at minimum so having a figure that is smaller the most of TB giant BAFs is just wrong.

Guess that all depends on your idea of "crap." I for one am happy to be getting the Kree Sentry, and might even go so far as to say guys like this are the reason they make BAFs. On the other hand, I didn't even know Stature was a thing until news about the Ant-Man & Stinger set dropped.

Also true. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose. Though I'm not ready to call it the worst BAF it is pretty bad in relation to size and just the rudimentary design. It really does look like one of those Marvel Mashers. It just seemed like a weird, not very well thought out choice. Initially I was excited but the final product leaves a lot to be desired. Not sure what they coulda done in it's place, but it's just a bit (actually quite a bit) underwhelming. I woulda thought that if and when they had done a Kree Sentry it woulda been done similar to the Sentinel which, as Tarot said, isn't actually that bad. I wouldn't buy it for $100 myself but it is pretty impressive in person. I do also agree that some characters as obscure as this may never see the light of day if not for the BAF. It kinda just falls in that weird space. I could see the logic of releasing a Sentry in a box set similar to the Sentinel, but I could also understand the risk of it not selling due the sheer obscurity of the character. Then again, I'm of the opinion that everyone loves giant robots.

Personally, the biggest catch point for me if they did do a Sentry box set would be the price. If the Sentinel box set is an overwhelming success at that $100 price point, then I would assume that would become the standard price for all similar sets in the future.

I've read a lot of posts talking about how bad the Sentry BAF looks (more to the point, COMPLAINTS). Am I missing something? Did "in hand" photos of this figure hit and I just missed it? Or  are people going by the image we were given when it was announced? I ask this because last I checked, fools did the same thing with the Thing. The production shot did the actual end result zero justice, but (as usual with Marvel Legend collectors) that didn't stop anyone from complaining/riffing etc, and then the "real thing" was shown and the collective tune changed. So what? We just complain when we see "opening salvo" shots instead of withholding until we see something real and even then, only a portion of the whiners serve up retractions? That IS what happened with the Thing. Not saying it will go exactly the same way with the Kree Sentry, but you'd think we'd learn, but I guess I digress. Complaining, then purchasing, then complaining some more is the typical ML collector motif.

exactly. Don't judge a prototype. judge the figure. as they will try and improve it.

More articulation means more action poses you can put the figure in. Big reason they're called 'Action" figures. Many TB figs were over articulated especially that toe articulation that after a while got loose & made your figs take a dive off the shelves.  Same thing for articulating every finger. That IMO was excessive on TBs part. IMO, 24-26 POA should be the standard.

Galactus does shrink down in size when he has not eaten a planet for a long period of time, I always thought of the TB version as a weakened version that was still more powerful than anything on Earth despite his hunger. About all the Hasbro version has on the TB one is the size, that's it.

That Sentry BAF is not gonna look any  different from what it looks like now. It looks like a Marvel kiddie  toyline masher. Tell me, of all the BAFs Hasbro has done, which one would you say is worse looking than this?

Though I always thought the Thing figure was the best Thing figure ever. Some people were saying "he is not tale enough and the select is better" except:

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcShMLG5uopVC2qXcwpW30W

he is only a head taller then the rest and most of the time he is actually the size size as the 4. So the Thing figure is great. Hell they didn't even have to give us extra hands and head but they did anyway.

I think most people are complaining about the Kree Sentry is because he is such an obscure figure in the Marvel Universe. Unless you have been a die hard fan of Marvel you probably wouldn't know what a kree Sentry was at first glance so many people dismissed it as a bad figure (they did the same to the other 2 that was revealed).

Of course the main reason Hasbro selected it is because it's a first movie. Hasbro never puts the A-game into a first movie. Look at GOTG Groot wave, Ant-man Ultron wave, Dr. Strange Dormammu wave, Black Panther Okoye wave. All relatively okay wave but nothing great as Hasbro wouldn't put a great wave out on something that could very well flop (hasn't happened yet but it's bond to eventually)

The Thing is not a mutant, so how is he all of a sudden a 7 footer when he has always been listed at 6ft 500lbs. Today's artist just love to say "the hell with their listed hgts/wgts, I'm gonna draw them huge"! I go by the way great artists like Kirby, Buscema, Perez & Byrne drew the Thing, at his correct hgt/scale, not the Hulk sized thing he's drawn as today. The Hasbro Thing is a great figure, just an inch too tall. Artists back in the day stuck to the standards & didn't draw any characters larger or smaller than their listed comic hgts. I really don't know why that's so hard to do today.

They don't mess with Wolvy's 5'3 hgt  & make him 6'5, why is it alright to mess with the hgt of other characters? Hulk, Juggs, Thanos & Thing are all drawn way outta proportion/hgt nowadays. Only one of those 4 that was ever listed as a 7 footer was the Hulk. Juggs went from 6'10 to 9ft tall , WTF! Cuz 6'10 ain't big? None are mutants so the  "they mutated larger'' card can't be used.  Artistic license at it's best.

Ruuuuuk, I was wondering when you were gonna chime in. Look, as one of the more prominent complainers here I just feel like I'm pointing out the obvious of what most people are at least partially thinking. The obscurity of the figure does not bother me at all. As a matter of fact I love getting obscure figures and yes, if it weren't for BAFs we may never get some of these characters. The biggest issue I have with it, and I assumed you would too as we were pretty much in lockstep with Sasquatch, is that that Sentry is just the wrong size. Last time I heard, the Sentries checkled in anywhere from 15 to 20 feet, not 8 or 9 feet which it looks like this guy is gonna represent. I'm not even saying so much about the design cuz from afar the Sentinel looks much more childish than the TB version but it looks great up close. I actually prefer a simplified Byrne or Cochran style versus the overcomplicated Jim Lee or Marc Silvestri style, but I'm happy to have either or both. What I'm saying is if they're gonna go thru the trouble of doing the Sentry why not do right and do it pretty much the same scale as the Sentinel. They coulda probably just modified the Sentinel mold and done a pretty fair job. Like I said, I dunno what woulda taken it's place as the BAF, but I think it woulda been much better recieved.

As far as complaining, I like to think it's more like fair criticism. It's not like I complain about stuff that isn't accurate. Saying the Sentry is too small and Sasquatch is too short is accurate. Saying things like Psylocke sucks because she should been done in her modern uniform is unfair. If not for real criticism, how can Hasbro ever truly say they take the fans input into account?

A will confess that for the Thing I was initially 100% wrong about it and I literally fell on my sword and owned it and actually apologized to Hasbro. I was happy to be wrong, but I don't think there were actually any changes made to it. Even the paint apps remained pretty much the same. I think the major problem for the Thing was that the official press image was done in an awkward pose and shot at a terrible angle. I've actually simulated it with my Thing figure. It's still there. There never were any updated pictures or any production pictures so the press image is all we ever saw until the carded images came out. And I'm happy to say it was better than I ever imagined. It is officially my favorite ML form Hasbro. If anyone else remembers, the Nebula figure also suffered from a terrible press official image and it turned out to be a damn fine figure as well. So no, I won't let myself be fooled by a single image anymore, but this Sentinel has several floor images along with the press image and I gotta say they all look the same. Just like Forges face sculpt, I do hope there's still time to tweak it, but I think it was you that actually said that the team told you once they hit the floor for reveal's time it's pretty much already too late.

I could be misremembering on that part though. I know someone said it.

Like I said, Hasbro got complacent & phoned this one in. Looks just like a Marvel mashers kiddie line toy. Maybe it was supposed to go there & they just said "ah freak it, throw it in the ML MCU Cap Marvel wave as the BAF, no one will notice".

They had the Sentinel buck to easily convert it into a Sentry. The great Customizer Raybot did it, why couldn't Hasbro? His version blows away what Hasbro came up with.

That thing can't even get 90 degree articulation on it's arms.  Piss poor effort on Hasbro's part with this BAF.

My brotha from anotha!!!

The 1st thing I want to respond to is; I agree 100% with you (and anyone else) who's main "complaint" is the Kree Sentry's height. As one of the chief sticklers on accuracy around these parts, if the BAF is indeed Sasquatch's Height (the Build A Figure), then it's basically a TRIPLE pooch screw (They already got Langkowski's height wrong which is bad enough, but if the Sentry' is the same height, it's doubly wrong because it's A-too short, and B- he's SUPPOSED to be taller than an accurately portrayed Sasquatch! "Squatch is 10' while the Sentry is 15'). It's funny. I remember back at SDCC 2017, when asked by the Hasbro staff to guess what the Build A Figure will be for the Deadpool wave (we only knew there would be one at the time) , I told them my "heart pick" is Sauron, but something tells me it's gonna be Sasquatch because they're both Canadian. Both Dwight and Tony gave a very slight eyebrow raise. I then went on to say if you guys are indeed doing a Sasquatch, you need to remember he's 10' tall so at minimum, he needs to be Hulkbuster height. They then turned to one another and eye raised a second time. I now know that was because they knew they f#*&ed up.

My 2nd point is Monron, if there's one thing I've noticed with you in particular is you will indeed come correct and serve up retractions or admit you got it wrong. When I went on about the complainers of this figure, it was primarily those talking about how it looks. I admit, the pics we have in no way compliment this BAF, but that was my point. And you're right. It's most likely a bad shot (even though it IS a direct non angular picture). I have zero issue if we get good pics (especially of the "in hand" variety) and the figure looks like garbage and THEN katz start the bitchfest. Hell, I'll even join in at that point. I do believe concern over the height ( or lack thereof) is valid.

Speaking of Heights, I believe the following are relevant:

Galactus-Though variable (he's been taller than buildings), his average height is over 28'.

Sentinels (classic)-20'

Kree Sentries (#459 for example)-15'

The MU Galactus is slightly taller than the MU (now DOFP) Sentinel. If Hasbro is going to keep this as standard, then the Sentry has to be shorter (though nowhere NEAR a meager 9"!)

The bottom line is this SHOULDN'T  be standard! Those figures were made to be in scale with the MU (or 3.75") figures, and they are! At the end of the day, we know Hasbro isn't gonna make figs that big (Galactus alone would be 2.5 feet tall in scale), BUT, they can at least have them more or less stack up somewhat accurately. Thoughts?

That's all we're asking. If The buck they are suing for Gladiator, Sentry, Sabes, Venom, Cap Britain is supposed to depict the marvel characters that are in the 6'4, 6'6 range then just make sure to add the appropriate amount of hgt to a character such as Sasquatch who is 10 ft tall in the comics & at minimum, make the character a full 9-10' tall as a figure. Instead they made him 8'5 tall where I think Juggs is now bigger than him by 1/2' inch.  Larger characters such as the  Kree Sentry or Goliath should not be attempted to do if they're not gonna go all out & make them at an accurate hgt that best represents their comic hgt.  I'm a stickler for hgt accuracy & have seen them drop the ball in that area numerous times already.

I will give props on their recent Cable as they made him on a buck that represents his 6'8 hgt in the comics & has him slightly taller than Hyperion who is on the 6'4-6'6 buck. They also got it right with Omega Red who is unbelievably listed as being 6'11 in the comics. That's one big Russian. The new Hercules upperbody sculpt looks great & I hope that will be incorporated towards future figures in that hgt/build such as classic Thor.

Reason they ain't selling 12' versions of their A-listers is cuz none of them is a giant in the comics. And us hardcore marvel comics collectors know this! Why the freak am I gonna spend 50 clams on a giant Spiderman figure? Now I see a 12' scaled Giantman/Goliath/Titan, etc, I'm getting that sucker cuz I know he is a giant In the comics.  You're the one vastly underestimating the comic IQ of the hardcore fanbase.

Completely disagree with this. Just not that much desire among buyers for that kind of thing .

And yes I bet we get Galactus in the next 2 years. I really like the Sentinel set . I was surprised how big it was and it makes me feel like I am 8 again walking by it and pressing the button every once in a while lol .

Yeah the Kree Snetry is an obscure character, and I can see your point. Some people just say it’s a bad figure because they don’t like the character. Which is completely illogical.  It for me who knows what the Kree Sentries are. I would say this is just a little disappointing figure. Because as other people have said. The Kree Snetry is at least 15 Ft tall in the comics and this BAF doesn’t come close to towering over a regular 6 inch figure.

While the sculpt and everything else look great on this figure. I just wish it was bigger. And had better elbow articulation. Because from the pics I’ve seeen it looks like it’s arms are hindered. But I’ll most likely still try to get it because it’s a new character and I love all the Kree stuff. maybe it’ll fit into perfect scale with my 3.75 inch Captain Marvel?

looking through the images of the Kree Sentry, even though many are build differently and different sizes, even I can admit it is waaayy to small. Even the small (one that battle Iron Man #542 or something) was bigger then this.

Knowing Hasbro and what they do with their Transformers line, I think this was made for someone else. I'm think they wanted to make a Nimrod but didn't want to give it to use too soon after getting the last BIG want of the X-men, Sauron. I could see this been used for Nimrod.

Holy HELL, I sure hope not! Sure, Nimrod has had a few different looks over the years, but when you think of Nimrod and the fact that we'll probably ever only see one if and when he's finally done in ML, there's only one look anyone wants and it's pretty much the one made popular during the 80's run of Uncanny X-Men. If they make it look anywhere near that Sentry there will be an outcry that would overshadow this one 100 fold. No, no, no, no, no......why did you hafta put that thought in my head?! Now I can't unthink it and I will live in intense fear that this could actually happen whether this Sentry was supposed to be Nimrod or has a legitimate chance to be the base for him in the future. I mean how many 8-9 foot robots that are of any recognition could this buck be "repurposed" for? The list is short my friends. Thanks for that, Tarot.

Me, I am still missing Galactus' right leg. It is never on Ebay, they only have left legs, and when it is on Ebay it is super expensive. Another option is to buy the $69+ War Machine from that wave brand new, but that's not happening.

I could see something like that done for the Gamerverse line.
