Scott Derrickson Returning To Direct 'Doctor Strange' Sequel

Recommended Posts

Sources have informed The Hollywood Reporter that director Scott Derrickson has finalized a deal to helm the sequel to Marvel's Doctor Strange which he originally directed and co-wrote in 2016.  Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Stephen Strange, the good doctor turned master of the mystic arts, as will Benedict Wong, who played his right-hand man, Wong. Rachel McAdams, who played Stephen Strange’s love interest, is likely to return as well.

A search for a writer to pen the script is underway as the plan is for the script to be out in 2019 with production starting in the spring of 2020 and in theaters by May of 2021.

Reads like music to me! I and my wife thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Strange in the 1st round, it was great story and visually innovative with its cinemotography and magic sequences. Really excited to see how they expand the character, the power of sorcery, and hopefully explore the pending dissonance with Karl Mordo.
