Netflix has posted a new coming attractions video for January 2019 and at the very end of the video they play a clip for the second season of Punisher simply saying coming soon.

This is good news for those worried the series might be canceled as many of the Marvel Netflix shows have been recently. Dardevil, Cage and Iron Fist have all been canceled with the status of Punisher and Jessica Jones remaining unknown up until this point.

On thing that we should note about this video which is a little strange. At the time of this posting the video remains unlisted. Hopefully that doesn't mean the video is old and wasn't really meant for public viewing.

Assuming season 2 of Punisher does air early next year, we imagine this will be the last season for the series at least on Netflix. While things remain in limbo, our feeling is many of these characters will end up showing up in some way on Disney's new streaming service which is set to start next year as well.

This is obviously going to get cancelled right after the season comes out. They wouldnt cancel the show before the season that was already shot and done. They will wait a few months while it premieres and THEN officially cancel it. Same with JJ. Her season is already shot/being shot, so they will wait til it releases and give a little time for people to watch it and then cancel that too. I wouldnt get your hopes up on it continuing. Marvel doesnt make decisions that arent already planned out in advance.

Hopefully Disney doesn't drop the ball. Punisher for sure, and the violence from DD's last season I can see getting toned down if these shows start up again under their service.

They won't.  Not for quite a while, anyway.

I saw that. I think this would work in Disney's favor. By the time they get to show up on Disney's service, we'll forget how good the Netflix versions were in comparison.

Can't help but feel the same as everybody else: they'll air the season, then immediately cancel it. I do worry, though, that we don't really know for sure that Disney's service is going to pick any of these shows up. It seems like they obviously should but there hasn't been any actual confirmation of that, has there?

They will not.  Nor should they, because Bob Iger insists that the service be family friendly.  If they would put them on Disney streaming, they would be watered down in terms of content, and very few people want that.  It's possible they may go to Hulu, but we won't know for a while.  Variety reported that there's a clause in the contract Netflix made with Disney that says that they cannot use these characters in television or movies for two years after the show's cancellation.
