Rookie to Marvel legends

Hey guys! I am new to collecting Marvel legends any ideas how to get started I did order the retro wave 1 and 2 from BBTS

You're already off to a great start as the Retro waves are the exact thing you need to start off.

here is a method I always advise new collectors.

1. Don't worry about completing waves or BAFs. This can be an expensive hobby so starting out, pick and mix for a while until you are settle into it.
2. Next, pick a character. Doesn't matter which. Since you have the retro wave, pick one from those. 
3. Next you can go on one of 2 ways or both.
   1. If you want to get every version costume and alternate of character, research which has been made. i recommend my site to see this.
   2. Or if you are a one figure per character type, then start looking for that character main allies and enemies. 
      1. If you want to go really deep into the allies and enemies, do so as this will help do another character. 
4. Once your done with that character move onto the next one and repeat. That way you build your collection and get the character you want.

There are a decent number of MLs from the last couple of years that ended up being discounted or marked down,  I'd start by checking listings on ebay for loose Marvel Legends to try and pick up some characters you like.  You can also check local stores to see if they have anything on clearance like Walmart, Target, Gamestop and also to see what figures they have in stock from recent or older waves.  And you can preorder from upcoming waves thru many e-tailers including amazon if you're worried about new stuff not showing up in your local stores.

If you want to stretch out your collection cheaply, I might wait until Cyber week at the end of November, and then check out Amazon. The leftover stock they have from earlier in the year or the previous year's figures drop pretty hard. Last year the entire Sasquatch Deadpool wave was hovering around $10 or less per figure, as was much of the Warlock X-Men wave.

The Retro waves are a good place to start. Then I would advise picking your favourite characters or teams and focus on them. Don't try to buy everything. Also check out reviews, they can really help tell you which figures to go with or avoid.

 

Of course shop around to try and get the best prices.

No worries! I should also add that when new waves come out, it would be wise to pick up the popular figures early, if you want them. Their prices start to get out of hand quickly, otherwise.

I suggest when starting off to build a good base just buy all of the characters you like that are at a good price , this way you start a nice collection and you can take it from there
