Marvel Legends Age Of Apocalypse Wave - Who Will The Build-A-Figure Be???

First off, I said I "wonder."  Not that I believe it as incontrovertible fact.

Second, whatever amount of AoA stuff they're giving us next year is not stopping them from making other "regular x-characters" as we already know the Strong Guy wave is coming.

X-Men are evergreen.  Unless Hasbro's losing the license they can make more regular X-Characters every year.  Next year is a significant anniversary for the Age of Apocalypse, though, and it's probably more savvy marketing to put them in their own sub-assortment than to try sprinkling them into future waves if it can be avoided.

I'm not saying they didn't but I dont remember them really hinting to more than one wave of AoA and honestly think it would be a mistake if they did do more. I just don't see enough demand for it out there regardless of the Anniversary.  If they do more AoA characters beyond this wave my guess it wouldn't be a full waves worth. I cold maybe see them sticking a few here or there in other X-Men waves or maybe something as a store exclusive.

As for the X-Force wave with Strong Guy, thats gonna be out this year by years end I believe, so I wouldn't really count that as next year.

The Deadpool wave with the Strong Guy BAF is scheduled for fall 2020. We get Spider-Man and Fantastic Four January 1st, then Age of Apocalypse and (presumably) Black Widow should be March to May sometime, and Deadpool is the last of the five waves we know about for next year.

Enzosaurusrex I have had a few things at the top of my list...A Skrull Boxed set (or a few waves where every character gets an additional Skrull version head), some Age of Apocalypse figures (never would have guessed we would get at least two waves), and any figures based on Madureira art work...ANY!!!

That would be really cool if every figure in the wave comes with a half-transformed Skrull head, and the other half of the head is of the figure in the box!

Hey, if you have some sort of inside info, I'm not trying to be argumentative. I'm going off of reporting done by this site (here) and the facts that 1) wholesalers have not yet solicited for this wave, which they would have had to do in order to get it out in the next month and a half, unless Hasbro is dramatically changing its business model; and 2) we don't know half the figures in the wave yet, which would be unusual (but not entirely out of the question) for a wave coming so soon.

I bet the release dates will also be affected by whether or not they have other waves already lined up and ready to go. Hasbro may also need to push future waves back if they need to focus on MCU stuff (especially with all the streaming shows about to drop).

Not a half bad idea!

Get it?

BWHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

But seriously, I like it, I hope to see it done!

    • No sign of Cuckoos at my local WG in southeast MA.  they did have had bits and pieces of Demogoblin wave, which was a pleasant surprise since usually its just the same pegwarmers i've seen there for the past 3+ years. Saw She-Hulk at target yesterday, so now i've found the whole wave in the wild except for Doom.  She-Hulk looks pretty cool but not particularly interested in her. I had heard some WM were putting older waves on clearance for $4.50 (!) so i checked my locals but they are selling the older waves for like $16.83 so if anything the price has been raised from the $11 they were at right after the holidays, lol. I'd like to tell my local walmart manager that he will never get rid of the 40 or so Prof Hulk wave figures they have in stock at that price, but i doubt they'd listen or care.
    • We're not that deep into rumorville. These are listings being put out to retailers which 9 times out of 10 turn out to be correct. Nothing is 100% confirmed until Hasbro confirms it and changes are possible, but its not like we are talking far fetched rumors either. The biggest questions here are the unkowns like comic vs video game based, but Tarrot is right they never list BAF in individual listings so Rage is almost def a single pack figure not BAF.
    • Wouldn't be surprised to see him revealed at Toyfair, altho i don't know what wave he would be a part of and can't see him being a fan channel exclusive.  SDCC seems like it would be a bit late for a reveal since by the time he came out 2020 would be nearly over, and i don't think he's popular enough to be an sdcc exclusive unless they do a whole 'time warriors' box set.
    • The only two characters that appeal to me in the FF and Spider-Man wave are Doom and Shang-Chi and Vulture. I find this wave with Rage, Mach-1, Leader and Mar-vell  is much more appealing. Everyone is going to have different preferred favorites especially as you start getting into the more obscure characters, hence why the Spider-Man, Cap and Iron Mans that everyone always complain about are always found in these waves.
    • Yeah i agree. i have 4 figs from the wave now though,  so i'll probably end up picking up superior ock and armor spidey to finish him. Ock seems to be selling well at the moment but armor spidey seems to be lingering on the pegs, altho its early yet of course.  I do like that Demo has a stand for his glider, feels like characters like Green Goblin and Silver Surfer should come with some sort of stand for their flying devices.
