Haahaa true but I usually love gray, look at how amazing the Gray Hulk looked it can pop

I can't justify spending my money on this, like I couldn't the retro black storm, also with Dark Beast coming and all..

The accuracy of the new head draws me in. I didn't get the retro black storm either and we are rewarded ( they are giving us that classic storm! "2 please"

Ain't this true, who needs that re-paint storm when we can get the one we really wanted , finally build that X-Men Arcade game roster

After he transformed into the grey Beast, for awhile his fur was said to be black. Like you said, grey doesn't usually have that "impact". But the blue "tint" they often give to black (look at the Black Panther, Black Bolt, Black Widow, etc) often takes over and before you know it....anyway, it didn't become blue until he went over to the Avengers and they specifically called it blue.

The problem I generally see, it is difficult to translate 2-D stylized shadowing and shading onto a 3-d figure.

Well, I'll admit when I'm wrong. According to MCUCOLLECTOR:

Damn, this is a tough one. I passed on the last Beast figure because I hate the Jim Lee style face and size. This new gray beast, while still bigger than I'd like, is a vast improvement because of the superior head sculpt, glasses, book, etc. He looks terrific... On the other hand, he's gray, which is generally pretty boring. I would much rather a darker blue version to go with my X-Men or Avengers lineups. I doubt Hasbro is going to re-sculpt the character to make him closer to scale with standard six inch figures as Gigantor and I would prefer, but if Hasbro did release a third paint of this character I would snatch him up in a second.

Does anybody think they will release a third edition?

I hope they do a retro carded Psylocke. They can make it the Ninja Psylocke. They can add a lot more accessories this time around like with the Beast. I would also love to see a retro carded Rogue at some point.

Also, since we know the original comic-accurate War Machine model is coming, don't be too surprised to see a "black" re-paint of the 80th anniversary armor to represent his Stealth variant.

A classic Perez or Byrne Beast on a mid sized buck is what's needed for a classic Avengers wave.
