Rage had his first appearance in the Avengers if memory serves, a young teenage boy who got his super powers in a chemical accident. He fought alongside the Avengers for a while but dont remember if he ever got his own comic book. I think he lived with his grandmother.

Thank you for filling me in on Rage..I do remember a bit of him in the Avengers. Didn't they kick him out because he was really a kid?

They didn’t exactly kick him out. He was placed in an Avengers in training program of sorts. He was still technically an Avenger in Training when he joined the New Warriors.

For some reason it became a New Warriors plan to steal a Quinjet for a mission and Rage used his Avengers clearance to gain entry to Avengers HQ. This is the reason they kicked him out of the training program. From what I’ve seen, he has never gone back.

For me, I never had a great attachment to his character. He was used as a plot device (angry black character with a chip on his shoulder that is hard to get along with. See early Falcon, Triathlon). His time was short and the stories that focused on him were very un-Avenger like. I think there was one particular story where some other worldly demons kidnapped his Grandmother and she actually slaps one of them with a rolling pin. Just weird, more street level (ala Spidey, DD) adventures that didn’t quite fit Earths Mightiest Heroes.

However, he has a great, unique design (sorry New Warriors fans, that red helmet look is piss) and he has grown on me. I was glad to get him in the 3 3/4 scale and I’ll be glad to grab this one. More obscure Avengers please Hasbro

At least a Manly 'New Warrior'...bring back the good old days even if speedball is a bit strange.

Not a massive fan of Rage, so I'll probably skip him.

It actually looks pretty good, jacket does good hiding all flaws of Hyperion torso, face has really good expression but that nose looks weird, I checked all comic books and I never ever seen him with that off yellow nose, it seems like paint mistake.

I guess the brown paint over the yellow plastic is why the nose is that way. I agree with you 100% that the vest covers the Hyperion flaws

In hand this is a great figure,if a little cartoony. Didn’t realize he was on that terrible Hyperion mold. Guess a easy fix like a vest can make a bad mold better.

Looks good and surprised to see him! Gladly fill out any teams I can. The best part is that vest has got to be used for Thunderstrike in the hopefully near future!
