Today, Marvel Entertainment announced three iconic franchises – ALIEN, PREDATOR, and ALIEN VS. PREDATOR – will be launching all-new stories with Marvel Comics starting in 2021! The new comic series will feature new and classic characters from Earth and beyond to explore never-before-seen corners of both the Alien and Predator universes.

Following the debut of Alien in 1979 and Predator in 1987, the films built a cult following and expanded rapidly to include toys, games, novels, and comic books, eventually leading to 2004’s landmark crossover Alien vs. Predator. Marvel’s new stories will draw from all of these properties, building on decades of multimedia storytelling. Get a first look at next year’s deadly new chapter with spine-chilling cover art by David Finch!

“There’s nothing more thrilling than a story that will keep you at the edge of your seat, and Alien and Predator have delivered that time and time again!” C.B. Cebulski, Editor-in-Chief of Marvel, told IGN. “I can clearly remember where I was when I saw each of these modern masterpieces for the first time, and reveling in how both masterfully weave extraterrestrial dread and drama into some of the most iconic scenes we’ve ever seen on film. And it’s that legacy that we’re going to live up to!”

“The incredible legacies of both franchises offer some of the most compelling and exciting worldbuilding in all of science fiction,” said Marvel Editor Jake Thomas. “It is a thrill and an honor to be able to add to that mythology and continuity with all-new stories set within those universes.”

“Alien and Predator are the two of the most identifiable, iconic characters of all time, and I love them for that,” said Finch. “But mostly, it’s being fortunate enough to be a kid when they were new. I’ve seen every movie they’ve ever been in, and I cannot wait to see them wreaking havoc in the Marvel Universe. I drew my pictures of them with a massive smile on my face.”

“As a visual medium, comics are the perfect place to build on those moments, and we here at Marvel are honored to begin telling these stories for fans everywhere,” added Cebulski. “As our release schedule continues to return, we can’t wait to share more in the coming months!”

Details on upcoming ALIEN and PREDATOR comic book titles, collections, reprints, and creative teams will be shared at a later date.

Damn, poor Dark Horse, first it was Star War that went back to Marvel, then Conan and Now Alien and Predator. Not the best period for Dark Horse tbh. On other hand there could new possibilities for them In Marvel, it would interesting to see if Hasbro gets this license tho, 6 inch alien and Predator would be pretty cool but it will hurt Neca a lot.

I was speculating this was going to be a thing very soon a couple months ago, with the fact Disney now owns Fox, I can't tell you how exciting this is, I am extremely excited to see the stories that will transpire involving Xenomorphs & Yautja in the Marvel Comic Universe, pretty much a dream come true..

Or the Star Wars universe.  Aliens vs Jar Jar.  One issue.

Oh well, say goodbye to bloody gore in any future movies with these 2 characters now that Disney owns em.

I'm sure you won't have to worry about this, this won't be the case, I'm sure we are not going to see a disney castle and shooting stars montage before a new Predator movie, it will be like how Disney handles any mature film they release, run it under a different subsidiary aka Fox... why would they make PG alien and predator movies nobody would like that

Disney has contributed to plenty of R-rated movies through their subsidiaries. Last year they released an R-rated movie (Stuber) through 20th Century Fox. Bob Iger has even come forward to say that people could expect Deadpool to remain R-rated. So I don't see where does this assumption come from.

So ya think a Spiderman/Predator movie won't be PG? Only way it would stay R rated if it's a DP vs Pred movie.  Same with an Avengers vs Aliens crossover, PG rated all the way. Can't spook the little minions in the theatre, mommy will have a cow. Or is the Pred/Alien universe gonna stay separate from the MCU?

Nobody is talking about a crossover movie between Marvel and Alien and/or Predator. I wasn't. And the announcement certainly doesn't either. The announcement isn't even about movies. Read the text.

It's about Marvel making Alien and Predator comics. The wording makes it seem like the comics will be set in the I.P.'s own universe, but Finch's comment seems to indicate there could be a crossover.

For now, it's just comics related, you really don't think Marvel/Disney aren't salivating at the thought of crossing These 2 franchises in the MCU?

Disney has never had Marvel crossover with any other I.P. under their umbrella in any major way. I don't see why would that change with Alien and Predator, especially in terms of crossing over with the MCU, which is a lot more airtight than the comics when it comes to doing its own thing and only that.

The only crossover I can think of is the Marvel/Phineas and Ferb one and that was pretty weak.

Yup, and Ultimate Spider-Man had a Halloween special featuring characters from some other Disney Channel show. But that's the extent of Disney making Marvel cross over with other properties.

I always found it funny how people back in 2010 were so worried Disney was going to have Mickey and Donald run around with the Avengers, when it is Warner who has had the Looney Tunes cross-over with DC characters.

Yeah, I think it was people over-reacting
