Falcon And The Winter Soldier Minimates Discovered At Walgreens - Minor Spoilers

Earlier this week we got our first look at the first merchandise being done for the upcoming Disney+ Falcon and the Winter Soldier series with Hasbro's Marvel Legends prop replica Captain America shield. Well now thanks to MCUCollector and vintage.man02 we have a look at new Walgreens exclusive Marvel Minimates based on the upcoming show. These apparently were actual found on shelf even though Diamond Select Toys has yet to officially announce them.

There are two 2-pack which feature Falcon with Baron Zemo and Winter Soldier with USAgent. Now here is where the minor SPOILER comes in.

The USAgent figure is actually labeled as Captain America

. This seemingly confirms the rumors that in the Disney+ series will see John Walker AKA USagent, at least temporarily take over the mantle of Captain America. This isn't terribly surprising if you are familiar with Walker's story from the comics.

In the comics the US Government for a time stripped Steve Rogers of the Captain America title because they felt they couldn't control him and gave it to Walker. Eventually Rogers regained the Captain America mantle and Walker became USAgent.

At the end of Avengers Endgame, we saw an old Rogers hand the Captain America mantle over to Sam Wilson, so likely the Government will strip him of the mantle and give it to Walker. Again, at least for a while.

This likely explains why Walker's costume is blue as opposed to black. Hopefully when Walker actually becomes USAgent, which we are confident he will, they will change the color of his costume from blue to black.

With Minimates based on the series already hitting shelves, could Marvel Legends figures be far behind????

I could see them releasing these exact same 2-packs in Legends form sometime next year. Or maybe possibly get all 4 in a Disney+ wave with some version of Wanda and Vision and maybe Loki if that show is out by then. I've heard people saying that the rereleased IW 2-packs is it for Legends from the shows, but I can't imagine they won't give us new versions. We're probably getting these now to capitalize on the hype for the shows, particularly WandaVision, but then we'll get actual show figures next year.

Well my guess Walgreens put these out before they were supposed to.

Ah more Falcon & Winter Soldier merch popping up, guess Walgreens didn't get the don't put these out yet memos.

Someone in Hong Kong is about to show us some Legends soon haha

All merchandise is supposed to be embargoed until the show is closer to release. Ryan and Dwight confirmed in the last stream they're making Marvel Legends for the show that are already done but had to be delayed because the show's release date was pushed back to early 2021.

So the merch that's leaking out now is all stuff that was already shipped out but the stores aren't supposed to be putting out yet.

While these actually started slipping out at stores last October, Diamond Select Toys has released official images and details for their new Walgreens exclusive The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Minimates.

Marvel Minimates are celebrating 18 years this year, and the line is still going strong with waves based on Marvel comics, movies, animation… and now TV! The first-ever assortment of Minimates based on a Disney+ television series is available in Walgreens stores now, and it’s focused on the world of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier!

Capturing four of the show’s key characters in two 2-packs, this assortment includes the Falcon (Sam Wilson) with Baron Zemo, and the Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes) with the new Captain America (John Walker). The Falcon includes removable wings, goggles and a flight stand; Baron Zemo includes a removable mask; and Captain America includes a removable mask, shield and pistol.

Each Minimates mini-figure features 14 points of articulation as well as fully interchangeable parts. They can be found in Walgreens stores, in the toy aisle!
