Sony's official Into The Spider-Verse Twitter account posted these two images featuring Spider-Man 2099 with the caption "One Year Closer To 2022". This was posted on New Years Day. The sequel to the hit animated movie is slated to hit theaters on October 7. 2022.

It's not really a big surprise that the Spider-Man from the year 2099 who goes by the name Miguel O'Hara will be in the next movie. He was actually featured and voiced by Oscar Isaac briefly during an after-credit scene in the first movie which is what these images Sony posted is from. Despite the teases, Sony has yet to officially confirm that Oscar Isaac has signed on for the second film.

We do know that Shameik Moore will be returning to voice Miles Morales with Joaquim Dos Santos directing the movie. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are producing it once again.
