May Calamawy has joined Oscar Isaac in an undisclosed role for the Marvel Disney+ series Moon Knight.

Oscar Isaac is playing the title character Moon Knight, aka Marc Spector.  The character is described as, "a mercenary who has numerous alter egos — cabbie Jake Lockley and millionaire playboy Steven Grant — in order to better fight the criminal underworld. But later he was established as being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Most recently, the character was a consultant who dresses in all-white and goes by the name Mr. Knight."

Production will begin in March in Budapest and will be directed by Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.

Until we know any more about the series or what previously published material it will draw from, I'm going to assume she's playing Marlene.

I'm not sure I care who she plays, I approve the casting.

Don't know her , but sure why not I want to say she'd be Marlene although she doesn't really look like her, but hey it seems that doesn't matter anymore. I want to say that maybe she's Isabelle Kristel? that seems to work.

Scene: Casting office at Disney/ Marvel studios:

"She's female...Moon Knight had one prominent female character (Marlene), therefore this actress must be her."

Yeah I can't go along with that line of deduction either. On the one hand many of these series have shown a total disregard for requiring the cast to look like their comic counterparts, so she definitely could be Marlene, on the other hand she could be a totally new character like Dinah Madani was on Punisher.

They could completely gender swap any character these days, especially if the character is just a supporting character. I don't even try to guess anymore. Whatever, as long as they do It good and do it justice and it doesn't interject itself too much into the narrative then.....whatever. It seems to work okay with shows like The Boys and Umbrella Academy. Then again, those were a little less recognizable characters, many of which were seen for the first time by watchers of the show, so there was really not as much historical nostalgia attached to them as some long standing Marvel Characters.
