This erivera review really misses the mark. Evidently he received some critique on a previous video review; he makes a sarcastic comment about being an "amateur reviewer" for another figure from that video, but it really is an amateur move to use this video, to highlight a character that has nothing to do with the featured figure. He's right about the alternate head though, and that one he used looks pretty good. Great choice! Too bad Hasbro didn't include something like that.

As for this Magneto, they didn't quite match the costume as closely as they should have; it lacks the panel ribbing on the torso, but I'm glad they didn't go with the bare arms look. When the first shots of these figures came out this was the only one that actually caught my eye. I had to pass on the other figures in the wave as they just don't do it for me, but I'm gonna enjoy this one.

It's really sad because Erivera is usually spot-on with his reviews (I didn't watch his review on this Magneto though) and he doesn't criticize other reviewers.

This Magneto was probably the easiest pass for me since it seems almost a straight-up reuse AND mainly because that helmeted head sculpt looks just terrible. It looks like a middle-aged man cosplaying as Magneto. And also what's up with his "bored" look expression.  Yikes! And I have no attachment to the BAF Tri-Sentinel. What comic/story is this sentinel even from?

The whole wave is from House of X/Powers of X, including the sentinel. It literally appears in like five panels of one scene in an alternate timeline that's almost immediately thereafter scrubbed from existence. It's the definition of obscure.

Erivera is partially correct about the costume background...however this is the HoX wave which means it is the exact costume Magneto has in House of X. Uncanny X-men vol 3 features him with the sleeveless version of this costume. It is really funny I hear from social media that people complains why it is not sleeveless.

Erivera may not get the comic facts right, however he does get the figures first every time. It does help the potential buyers decide on whether to get the figure or not.

Makes you wonder why Hasbro didn't include extra sleeveless arms

There are actually more differences than that, though. A convertible version would've been pretty involved. On the original version of the costume he didn't have his trademarked collar around the cape, instead having a cape more like Moon Knight's, shifting the bolted collars to the openings for his arms.

Thanks Ben for this, this drives the point they are not the same costume as what people expect it to be
