Marvel Legends Black Widow 2-Pack, New $50 Avengers Deluxe, Spider-Man Figure Listings And More

As reported last month, a listing showed up on a Canadian distributor website for a new Marvel Legends Black Widow 2-Pack.

As I first reported this weekend, the set should contain figures of Red Guardian and Yelena. My initial thought was and perhaps still is that the set will be movie based. Truth is I don't really know though. We have previously gotten both comic and movie versions of Red Guardian in the line. I figured it would be movie and this one would have a helmeted head instead of an unmasked one like we previously got. The Yelena figure is the strange one here.

 

We have already gotten a movie Yelena figure, and at least based on the trailers we have see for the movie so far her outfit doesn't seem to change much. We however have not gotten a comic book based Yelena figure, at least not since the Toy Biz days which was a variant.

If it's movie based I suppose Yelena might end up wearing a different outfit that we just haven't seen yet, perhaps a black one. Honestly I am really surprised its not a two-pack featuring a helmeted Red Guardian with the Melina character, which has yet to get a figure.

For comics, I don't think Red Guardian's outfit has changed to much over the years. At one point I think he had a red star on his chest as opposed to white like the recent Marvel Legends figure has. So it will be a little disappointing if we had to buy another Red Guardian figure to get a comic book based Yelena, not that we haven't seen that tactic before.

Time will tell and hopefully Hasbro will officially announce it soon.

In other news, the folks at Fwoosh have dug up a few more new listings I have yet to report on, though I have seen for myself indications of.
 

 

First they are showing a listing for a new $50 Deluxe figure similar to what we saw with the M.O.D.O.K. figure. The listing reads as follows:

Beyond that I can tell you there should be a number of Spider-Man re-issue figures coming I assume will be on Retro cardbacks. I should have more details to share with you on those soon.

I wonder if that X-Men wave could actually be an Excalibur wave and not a AOA wave like Jay C is predicting. I am not trying to be rude or condescending but given the teaser from last week, I wonder if we could be getting this as a wave instead of a set considering we already have Nightcrawler, we could get:

Captain Britain

Throw in some classic characters from the past like they did with X-Force wave some years ago:

Been doing more digging on the BW 2-pack and it is almost def movie based.

This will be interesting to see the movie BW 2-pack.  I made a custom Yelena cause I didn't like torso of the single pack one.  Maybe they will use the Deluxe BW torso and just use the old vest?

Hopefully movie won't be delayed again. Something tells me they planned this two pack way before, because it's not like Hasbro didn't have concept art of his helmet when first figure was made, even box art has helmeted art, so this is almost like McFarlane tactic of releasing variant everyone wants.

I am almost certain that Spider-Man wave is for the 3rd movie, I heard this from a source recently.

I also don't think that the X-Men wave is going to be AOA, based on info said by the Legends team awhile back, were they addressed AOA and if there was going to be anymore figures and they stated, yes, but in some multipacks and exclusives (or fan channel), and didn't mention a second wave. I however could be wrong, I am no leading source of info on any of this.

I am however not surprised in the least that we'd be getting a older helmeted MCU Red Guardian figure, that always seemed like it was in the cards, I do however wonder if potentially the second Yelena might be in a black suit, with an alt head for Melina

I would so love an Outrider figure for that Avengers deluxe pack.... I picked up a couple of the Marvel Select Chitauri right after the first Avengers movie. They hold up just fine, but an Outrider would be fantastic!

For the BW 2-pack, I'd think I'd likely buy it if it was a masked Red Guardian and a Yelena with alternate Melina head.

There are so many X-Men characters that I'd love to see made, that I think I'd rather it not be an AOA wave, but whatever. Rockslide, Pixie, M, Anole, Armor, Husk, Magma, Siryn, Rictor, Hellion, Cypher, Chamber, Quentin Quire, Sage, Surge, Dust, Madelyne Pryor, Mercury, Dr. Nemesis, Glob Herman, Callisto, Marrow, etc, etc.,etc.

From all the rumors around that Spider-Man movie, it sounds like there will be no shortage of characters to make figures of.... can we please finally get an Aunt May? (although I'd strongly prefer comic version)

Classic X = Classic Excalibur? Probably not lol.

I'm curious what that Avengers deluxe figure is. I don't see it being movie-based. And same price as MODOK? Very intriguing. The Black Widow 2-pack is interesting. If it is Yelena, I'm hoping others here are right and we'll get a Melina head sculpt with her.

I assume the second wave of Disney+ stuff will be based on Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel. Hopefully we also get some other characters from the shows from the first half of the year too. I want Agatha, the twins and Pietro, also whoever the main villain ends up being. Same with Loki, we're only getting one figure from that show atm, unless the BAF is from there as well.

Obviously I'm the most excited for the Spider-Man stuff. I'm guessing we'll see the new Retro wave in 2022, given that we're getting F4 this year and 2022 seems like the year of Spider-Man figures (yay), with the Raimi 20th anniversary and all. I'm betting we'll see a classic Shocker, Chameleon, Hobgoblin and Scorpion with a different paintjob. Hopefully we also get a deluxe carded Rhino with a new head. That would be cool. Maybe even some Spidey suits, Iron Spider or the Spider-Armor MK 1 are probably my biggest wants rn. Also Future Foundation and Bag-Man, but we could also see them on F4 card backs at some point this year. So many possibilities!

Pretty sure that other Spider-Man wave will be movie based. I honestly have no clue what figures will be included in that, given the sheer number of rumors floating around for who's in it. If there are any comic figures in it, I hope they include either Riot or Agony and maybe even a lesser known villain. Carrion or Shriek would be amazing to round out the Maximum Carnage lineup.
