Moon Knight's New Mission Is...Justice

The Fist of Khonshu returns this July! Moon Knight, one of Marvel’s most enigmatic and compelling heroes, is back in an all-new ongoing series written by Jed MacKay(Black Cat) and making his Marvel Comics debut, artist Alessandro Cappuccio (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers). MOON KNIGHT #1 will spin directly out of the recent “Age of Khonshu” arc in Jason Aaron’s Avengers run and promises to be a worthy new adventure for this fascinating character.

The mysterious Mr. Knight has opened his Midnight Mission, his people petitioning for protection from the weird and horrible. That protection is offered by Moon Knight, who stalks the rooftops and alleys marked with his crescent moon tag, bringing violence to any who would harm his people. Marc Spector, in whichever guise he dons, is back on the streets, a renegade priest of an unworthy god. But while Khonshu languishes in a prison that Moon Knight put him in, the white-cowled hero must still observe his duty: protecting those who travel at night. And let it be known – Moon Knight will keep the faith.

But despite betraying his god to the Avengers, the Fist of Khonshu's obligations remain the same- to protect those travelling at night. Apostate priest of the moon god, the mysterious Mr. Knight has opened the doors of his Midnight Mission, where those in fear of the weird and strange may petition for the aid of the Moon Knight! But this doesn't sit well with everyone, and hidden threats circle Marc's new start from the shadows..."

Jed Mackay  is kinda meh but Moon Knight is my favorite character so I will be picking up this title.

I've heard great things about MacKay's Black Cat, his Taskmaster was fantastic, and Avengers: Mech Strike is great fun, so I'm excited. I'm not familiar with Cappuccio, but after a quick Google search, I think he's up to the task.

All I know is that I loved this guys taskmaster run, hopefully this will bring justice to moon knight and give him some more spotlight.

This is a solid creative team, so I'm in. I haven't jived with a Moon Knight ongoing in years, but hey, can't be worse than when they gave it to Bendis.

HIs Taskmaster was the best thing I've ever read by him.  HIs spiderverse stuff and Black Cat were boring.

That was a pretty good run IMO.  The Warren Ellis, Jeff Lemire and Brian Wood runs were great too.

Sounds interesting ! I’ve always thought MK would be cooler as a defender against the weird and monstrous . Get him back to his old werewolf fighting days and keep his moon phase based strength.

I look forward to this. Dropped a bunch of titles from my pull list because, frankly, these stories just arent entertaining anymore. Out of habit, getting my pile, but more and more disappointed so that I havent even read the whole stack yet. So, if theyre not grabbing me, I'm not buying anymore. Hopefully this Moon Knight will be of interest.

Seems to be warm up title before Marvel reboots moon knight again in time for Disney+ show. I guess it will be more conservative safe story telling for like 7-12 issues.

I feel like Marvel has enough faith in Moon Knight as an established character to launch the book now, cashing in on the hype of the announcement alone, without relaunching it yet again when the show drops. Black Widow and Shang-Chi did do the mini-before-ongoing, but their minis were announced as such, while this is being treated as a proper ongoing.
