I'm ecstatic to have Hyde in Legends form! I've been collecting these things for 2 decades. I'm thankful every time they make a previously unmade character. I have at least one version of every character they've ever made going all the way back to the first 6" Spider-Man figures before Legends. I just get annoyed when I have to buy versions of characters they've already done multiple times over just in order to get a BAF part or a new character that they've packed with 1 or 2 repeats. I also understand that's what they probably have to do to sell enough volume to be worthwhile.

Overall I like this wave. The Hyde figure is my favorite. The Shang Chi figure is my least favorite, but all in all I think the wave is pretty good and I'm much more of a comic version guy than a MCU or gamerverse guy. So I'm happy to have this.

But those people that don't like this one might really dig the Disney+ or What If waves that I already know that I have no interest in. I think it's great that Hasbro has product for all of us! No one is ever going to be happy with everything, right?!?

This wave was an easy pass and honeslty this Mr.Hyde is whatever.

As someone said, he looks like a 'roided up Lucky Charms leprechaun with that hat and cane. No thanks. I'll wait for the classic version with the inverness coat, and, should they never make that, ce'st la vie.

P.S. for anyone that wants to see how Spider-Man did against Hyde, suggest you check out ASM #231-232. This was during Roger Stern's and John Romita Jr's (back when his artwork was really good) run and its a true joy to see how Stern clearly loved exploring Spidey's powers and rogue's gallery.

What connection does Shang-Chi share with Mr. Hyde? He would have been better in an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D wave  or a Ghost Rider wave with Robbie Reyes.

Its a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen connection, from that time the team went to London's Chinatown and Hyde slaughtered a bunch of chinese gangsters working for Fu Manchu, who in the comics is Shang-Chi's father.  So there you go.

So which Shang-Chi character do you think should have been the build-a-figure?

You might be considering a good long while because Shang-Chi foes/allies tend to be somewhat obscure and I can't think of a single "oversized" character that anyone would give a hoot about that would fit the bill.

The connection is more an "Avengers" connection than a "Shang-Chi" collection (given they filled out the wave with Avengers-esque characters).  And either way, it's a way to get Hyde into collectors' hands, and I like the particular Thunderbolts run this outfit is inspired by, so I don't even mind that it's not a "classic" "The Owl-on-Steroids" version.

Exactly. What people keep forgetting is that the whole MCU line (including some spidey waves) is just one big Avengers line, despite what movie it is? Gotg, Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Ant-man, Thor etc all part of the Avengers line.

And for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, the whole Marvel Legends line is now spilt up into 3/4 lines, Avengers/MCU, Spider-man and X-men. There is speciality waves like the F4 but I wouldn't consider that a line until we get more then 2 waves of it.

I am More than happy to get a Mr. Hyde BAF soon . Mr . Hyde was always very high on my Top Ten list of BAFs ( along with Lockjaw , A-bomb , Orca , Classic Crimson Dynamo and Titanium man, Classic Blastaar,Stegon , Classic Lizard , Quasimodo )

sure i like a Classic Hyde more than this new Thunderbolts version but it‘s ok ! Hope hasbro will Hear the fans and will make a More Classic version with multible Hands/fists and two Heads !

Of course one alternative would be to do a regular-size mcu figure as the BAF similar to Okoye, Mantis, and (to some extent) M'Baku and Bro Thor, but people certainly complained a lot about Mantis and Okoye so i don't think Hasbro prefers to go down that road unless it was an all mcu wave.

I'm guessing maybe there's some sort of dragon they could've done (admittedly an undersized one) or some other mythical creature but Hyde certainly has more name recognition and will draw in collectors who aren't into the mcu generally or this movie specifically.

True, Hyde has virtually nothing to do with Shang-Chi but then again, there's no rule that these guys have that say one figure has to fit with another's normal 'hood; even if there was, they'd break it as much as they chose fit. 😆 There's no rule that says the BAF can't be a normal sized (or even undersized) figure either.

Trust me, I get it, we're used to these waves having some kind of theme in common and I think that's generally what they shoot for. But I wouldn't get too wrapped up in that. If Hasbro tosses a Yellowjacket, El Aguila, Triton, 70s Ms. Marvel, Arabian Knight, M-11 and Equinox my way and call it the Harpy (or Griffin) BAF wave, I'm bouncing on it!
