Excellent figure. Easily matches up with the work done on Rock Python.

Seriously though, this is what collectors want. Still can't figure out why most of the Iron Man figures no longer have boot jet detailing; Ultron does, Dr. Doom does). Otherwise the figure is straight from the comics; they actually used a glossy paint to make it look metallic, he is nearly fully articulated (that "split" pose is what every Legend should have, especially guys like Captain America, all the martial artists, Spider-Man, etc). And we're getting hinged repulsor blast hands! Finally! They Listened to the fans!!

I imagine we'll see this again in deluxe format: actual "modular" attachments, probably the vibrant "comic" color scheme and who knows, maybe the removable face mask.

Didn’t realize this figure didn’t come with a Stark head.. but wasn’t this the armor he used remotely or did he actually pilot this suit? This era of Iron Man was during one of my “off” periods of comic collecting so the finer details of this suit are lost on me. Although I did have most of the 5” toy line based on the cartoon some how.

Funny how certain characters suits ( Armored or otherwise) define an era for different people. This suit as well as the cartoon is “their Iron Man’ .. or the Xmen cartoon is “their Xmen”.. neither of the above examples defined these characters to me only because at the height of their cartoons I wasn’t watching.. but these are great eras for sure. The Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes cartoon was “my Avengers” and a great show to boot. They had classic costumes, classic villains and great stories that updated while at the same time played homage to the classic stories. So naturally they cancelled it and repackaged it with zero heart.. ah well still great times.

He piloted the suit himself, it was the Telepresence Armor (MK 12) that Tony had to control remotely. They do look similar

I know it is inevitable but I can’t wait for the comic color release of this figure. Don’t get me wrong, this is a very nice figure. But the comparison to that old ToyBiz figure show how sharp the comic colors are.

noy even fooling myself, I’ll be getting both if they do indeed repaint this guy

I actually wish this release had more brighter gold similar if not brighter than 80th anniversary version,  that would make figure way closer to comic books/animated look and still keep more realistic gold color, sadly  what they went with is way too dark it's almost closer to bronze than gold.

I'm expecting he'll be re-released in a lighter color scheme at some point.  Maybe on a retro card?  I'd be very surprised if that did not come to pass.

Yes it will happen but it will be flat red and yellow plastic like A.I. Iron Man from Shang Chi wave, and while flat colors are cool I still prefer metallic shine on my Iron Man + Modular always seemed to have very dark red. Best case scenario would be if they go with 2020 color scheme.

I absolutely love the figure itself but I waited this long for Modular; I can wait a bit longer for the comic colors. They can easily throw some shine onto flat paints. A.I. Tony was a lazy cash grab, I thought. But just look at Ultron... beautiful.

I sure hope classic Yellow Jacket isn't painted gold! (first) 🤞😑🤞

Well there are constant talk of a retro wave, which would be the perfect place for a comic/TV colour version. Though I'm going to be happy with this version.

I would have preferred something between this and the Ursa Major wave yellow/red scheme (which is what I'm imagining they might use for any eventual re-release).  I would have gone with something like the 80 Years or Iron Man 2020 colors, but nothing is being ruined for me.  Yeah, I'm going to be happy with this one.  Figure looks great.  And I'm not going to pretend it's unlikely that I'll pick up a repaint.
