This November, fans will get to experience two of the Fantastic Four’s greatest adventures in a brand new way in FANTASTIC FOUR ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE #1! In the tradition of GIANT-SIZE X-MEN: TRIBUTE TO WEIN & COCKRUM #1 and CAPTAIN AMERICA ANNIVERSARY TRIBUTE #1, this giant-sized issue will present classic stories with stunning new artwork by today’s leading artists.

Sixty years ago, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby made history and brought about the beginning of the Marvel Age of comics with the release of FANTASTIC FOUR #1. Now a bevy of Marvel’s finest creators will pay tribute to that monumental moment by reinterpreting, page by page, the story from that inaugural release as well as FANTASTIC FOUR ANNUAL #3, the wedding of Reed Richards and Sue Storm!

“It’s the 60th Anniversary of the Fantastic Four—and that means it’s a good time to assemble the best and brightest that Marvel has to offer to joust with the King,” Executive Editor Tom Brevoort said. “This issue not only reimagines that initial FANTASTIC FOUR issue from 1961 through the vision of the artists of today, but also the later story from FANTASTIC FOUR ANNUAL #3 in which Reed and Sue were married and the entire Marvel Universe of the period showed up. Not another "tribute" issue. Why not just release these as facsimile versions and let everyone appreicate the original artwork.

All I know is that I want some Hasbro Legends Frightful Four figures this year. At least by next year. 

And I want Annihilus and the Impossible Man and Blastaar and Firelord and Airwalker and Thundra and....

.... the Inhumans....and Attuma...and Dragon Man...and Red Ghost...and Diablo....and She Hulk in her FF costume!!

With the facial tech and improvements they have now, I wonder if they can do a spot-on Byrne face for her? One smiling and one not. Hair has to be on point, though. The recent "passive" head for the green She-Hulk just doesnt look right for her.

I remember the days when the Fantastic Four comic was the greatest thing out there.  Really miss Rich Buckler's artwork!

For me, the Byrne era of the FF was the best both story and art wise, with Perez era right behind it!

That was only ten years ago, when Jonathan Hickman was writing the book.

Byrne's "back to basics" run was indeed exceptional. The Fantastic Four were always more adventurers and explorers than super heroes and he stressed that. And I always like his rendition of the Watcher. He took Uatu back to Kirby's very very first drawings of him. Why Kirby began drawing him as a pudgy bald guy I'll never know, but the Byrne "retro" made him look unearthly, alien....as he should be.  So hint-hint, Hasbro Legends...
