Bit of a random question; what types of paints are best used to paint figures? What type of brush?

I'm mostly just looking at touching them up, like painting Tigra and Beast's claws and things like that.

Acrylics, but not art-class-style acrylics. Get the little pots of paints intended for painting models. Go to a game shop or hobby shop, and look for Vallejo, Citadel, Reaper, P3, Army Painter, or the like! The same shop should be able to recommend brushes (and several of the same brands make them), but you probably want a detail brush for painting models or miniatures. I’d generally recommend at least a base brush, a detail brush, a wash brush, and a dry brush, but it sounds like you may only need the detail brush.

I use Testors' acrylics on mine.  Pretty much any model paint that doesn't come straight from the arts and crafts section at Walmart/Target/etc.  You should be fine at a hobby store picking up the right paints and they probably have a nice set of brushes so that you can get a wide range of options for details or larger jobs in the future.
