Marvel Legends Binary Figure Video Review And Images

Dan Who? Reviews takes a look at the new Marvel Legends 6" Binary figure which here in the US will be sold as a Walgreens exclusive. The figure has already started seeing release in the UK.

In case anyone missed it, this is out in the UK/EU only so far.

Man, I don't get this.  There's no sculpted costume features, so why in the world would they switch body molds from the previous Carol Danvers figure?  And it looks like they're reusing the head from the Target exclusive 2-pack Storm figure.  Is that right?

I'm not impressed.

Not that it makes any difference 'cause we'll never get it here, but notice how they shot over 2 dozen pics and they're all front angles. Take a hint from GeeHangover and get 360 shots why dont'cha.

Nova (already out), then Quasar, then Binary

Even the reviewer showed what the translucent hair looks like from behind. I mean if they're gonna take two dozen stills why do them all of the front??

Why? That would be a perfectly acceptable choice. She was on that before as Ms. Marvel, its what she should be on at least until they wake up and start making some good diverse body choices for the females.

Has anyone actually found Nova (or Quasar) at their Walgreens yet? I check a couple of times per week at mine but their Marvel Legends shelf is always completely empty. I've somewhat already resigned myself to having to pay ebay prices, but don't want to do it earlier than I have to because those should come down as they're getting stocked and easier to find.

No.  I've been checking pretty regularly here in the Midwest.  No Nova yet.  I've actually had pretty okay luck with the Walgreens exclusives in the past.  Maybe he's still just on the coasts?

I agree 100% but I know its a touchy subject here. If not on a Moonstone buck the on one similar but improved. It's the same character!!  Should have the same body/build as the two previous figures.

The last time there were any Legends at Walgreens in any kinds of appreciable amounts here was around 2019. I was lucky to get a Moon Knight. Never saw a Silver Centurion or anything except Doom Iron Man after that.

I would love to see a great more full-figured replacement body for Moonstone, and this definitely could’ve been a candidate for it. I would love to see more diversity in the sculpts. I just hate that particular weird, malformed, fragile body. I think this figure looks great, though, despite being a lot of re-use. I’m excited for it.

It look weird and off ... but this is the only version we will get of this costume in 20 years so ... 🤷‍♂️

I was fortunate enough to get one a few weeks ago while I was in the UK, and I have to say the head sculpt is honestly terrible. I am trying to figure out which head I can use to do a little customizing (the hair is fine, but the face is just brutal).

North Texas (Amarillo) is getting some Nova sporadically at various stores. No sign of Quasar. For those who are tracking.

Sad that Hasbro used this mold, most inexpensive way because they know we don't have much choice, when they could really use new Shriek body mold or combination of Shriek upper body and arms with Moonstone body so we could have some continuity with Carol figures and also double jointed elbows, better yet they could have used Transparent red and orange plastic to create truly interesting look that could fit with other "fire" characters but sadly thats not the case either.
