This March, make way for the new Sorcerer Supreme! With Doctor Strange dead, another sorcerer has taken the title, or should we say Sorceress? Clea, mistress of the Dark Dimension and Stephen Strange’s powerful partner, will rise to the challenge of defending earth from mystical and otherworldly danger in writer Jed MacKay’s STRANGE #1! Featuring artwork by AMAZING SPIDER-MAN artist Marcelo Ferreira, this all-new ongoing series will spin directly out of the story still unfolding in MacKay’s DEATH OF DOCTOR STRANGE. Readers should stay tuned to the hit limited series to see the tragedy and drama that leads into this exciting turn of events!

Haunted by her recently returned memories, Clea longs to bring Stephen Strange back from the dead! But when a mysterious group attacks the magical realm, Clea, now the sole protector of Earth against magical threats must rise to the duties of Sorcerer Supreme. Don’t miss the shocking twists, new villains, and unbelievable magical feats as Clea takes Marvel magic to places it’s never gone before!

Here’s what MacKay had to say about continuing this unprecedented Doctor Strange saga:

"After the apocalyptic events of The Death of Doctor Strange, there's a new Sorcerer Supreme in residence at 177A Bleecker Street, and a new Doctor Strange- Clea Strange. And she's got her work cut out for her- when she's not fighting off the magical gangsters of the Blasphemy Syndicate, or battling undead super-monsters, she's going after what's hers: the late Stephen Strange. Clea is of the Faltine, that race of Warlords and conquerors, and like her relatives Dormammu and Umar, she will not be thwarted in her desires, not even by the mysterious Harvestman standing in her way.

“It's been really exciting to open up a new chapter in the world of Doctor (Clea) Strange, to get some new adventures going and some new weirdies on the table, and I can't wait for folks to come along with us!"

Enter a thrilling new age of Marvel mysticism when STRANGE #1 hits stands on March 2.

The continuing silliness of the comic trope revolving door of death is still in effect, it seems. A pox upon the Inept "writers" who lean on these crutches.

HOWEVER.....if there's going to be a replacement, I can see Clea as a rational choice (she was his apprentice after all and she can generate her own magical energy).  Just like when Cap asked Falcon to take over, or over in DC when Robin stood in for the Batman. And as in those cases, we'll just wait to see when the good doctor resumes the title.

This and also Thor with Jane Foster makes me think it’s only  matter of time before MJ really turns into New Spider-Man and tbh I still remember cover from 80s annual where MJ had Spidey costume on, sadly issue didn’t have anything like that but still cool cover. Anyways, I really hope  this gives us Clea figure in Marvel Legends soon enough and preferably her classic outfit.

She used the Iron Spider suit for one issue

Not an out-of-the-left-field choice, which I think it's a nice thing. MacKay is going to be writing it, so that already makes me want to check it out. Now I just wonder how many issues until Black Cat guest-stars 😛

Black Cat is going to appear first page lmao

Don't read the comics anymore, but cool man, makes perfect sense. So can we get a figure of her now? Silver and/or Bronze Ages first please! 🙂

Yes, though I prefer the more modern versions. She's had so many different looks though they're all so similar in look and color that I think any version will do with a few different head sculpts to represent the classic "horn" curls and the modern look.

Well Magik is Sorcerer Supreme of Limbo but Clea was that for the Dark Dimension so both of them (plus Doom and Voodoo) could have been perfect candidates

Well Magik was for a while Strange's apprentice as well. It could also have been Wanda who in some of Strange's book was the person Strange picked to cover for him, if he wasn't available, but Trash of Magneto did a lot of stupid stuff with her, so she was out of the running.
