A conflict is brewing between some of the Marvel Universe’s major players and in the end, all will be JUDGED. This summer, the Avengers, the Eternals, and the X-Men find themselves at war in A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY, a new crossover event by writer Kieron Gillen and artist Valerio Schiti, and fans should look no further than current and future issues of AVENGERS, IMMORTAL X-MEN, X-MEN, and ETERNALS for the reason why. Mutantkind’s newfound immortality, the Eternals discovery of long-hidden truths about their species, and the Avengers’ recent crimes against the Celestials will all come to light and unleash a reckoning! The Eternals’ purpose cannot be denied, mutantkind’s future will not be threatened, and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes efforts to de-escalate a potentially apocalyptic battle may be hopelessly futile… Don’t miss the buildup to the 2022’s biggest story in these exciting issues coming your way in June!

· Gerry Duggan and Pepe Larraz present the grand climax to the Krakoan X-Men’s first year in X-MEN #12! On the eve of the Hellfire Gala, threats have closed in on the X-Men from all sides. The secret machinations of Doctor Stasis, the terror of Gameworld, even the threat of the X-Men’s own secrets getting out…it’s all led to this!

· Kieron Gillen teams up with artist Michele Bandini for a Hellfire Gala story ripe with drama, revelations, and betrayal from a shocking uninvited guest in IMMORTAL X-MEN #4! Emma Frost will do anything to protect the children, including the metaphorical child that is the Hellfire Gala. Last year's was a fantastic success. She would not like it if someone ruined the second. She would not like it at all…

· And Jason Aaron and Javier Garrón introduce History’s Mightiest Heroes in AVENGERS #57! The Avengers are lost in time, and if they’re going to stop Mephisto’s grand plan, they’ll need help from some of history’s greatest heroes, whose stories have never been told. Like the mystical man of war, Sgt. Szardos, Soldier Supreme of World War II, and his squadron of supernatural grunts, the Secret Invaders.

Get the full scope of Marvel Comics’ next super hero epic with these issues and more! Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more announcements about A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY, including what other upcoming books will be packed with exciting developments and lead-ins to this crossover event.

“In the land of the righteous, the wicked will be put to death!

This summer, the Marvel Universe will be judged by a power greater than anything they’ve encountered before in A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY, the latest Marvel Comics crossover event. Written by mastermind creator Kieron Gillen and drawn by the epically talent Valerio Schiti, A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY will find the Avengers, X-Men, and Eternals embroiled in a deadly conflict. Kicking off after the Eternals boldly attack mutantkind’s new home on Krakoa, this complex saga will pay off various plot threads that have defined these franchises in recent years including mutantkind’s newfound immortality, the Eternals’ discovery of long-hidden truths about their species, and the Avengers intense dealings with the Celestials. The event will have a massive impact on the characters involved and their stories moving forward and fans can get their first hint of the full scope of A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY right now by learning more about the event’s issues and tie-ins set to debut in July.

July will see the release of both A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY #1 and A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY #2 and Gillen and Schiti’s emotional opening issues promise to define the summer. The X-Men claim they’re the planets’ new gods. The Eternals know that position is already filled. The Avengers are about to realize exactly how many secrets their so-called friends have kept from them. Years of tension lead to a volcanic eruption as two worlds burn. Who has leaked the X-Men’s secrets to their latest foes? Why is Tony Stark abducting an old friend? And who stands in judgment over the whole world? As the world shakes, an unlikely group of heroes and less-than-heroes gather to find a peaceful solution. Sadly, the best laid plans of man, mutant and Eternal oft go awry...

Gillen will also team up with artist Guiu Vilanova to explore the root of the Eternals’ fury against mutantkind and the schism it’s causing in their society in a three-issue limited series beginning in July titled A.X.E.: DEATH TO THE MUTANTS. The mutants are Deviants. Eternals are coded to correct excess deviation. The mutants are eternal, Mars colonizers, ever-spreading. Eternals know what they should do. Our heroes don’t want to, but can they resist the murderous designs coded into their body as surely as any Sentinel? And if they can’t, can anyone survive the coming judgment?

In addition, A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY will spin off into the following titles throughout July:

· IMMORTAL X-MEN #5 will see Gillen and artist Michele Bandini spotlighting one of mutantkind’s most fervent warriors—EXODUS. Bennet du Paris was born in the 12th century. Exodus marched forth with a sword in his hand and a shield in his heart to protect what he believes. It’s now the 21st century. What’s changed? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. And the Eternals who dared attack Krakoa are going to discover what that means.

· Deadpool joins and Kraven’s mutant hunt begins in Benjamin Percy and Robert Gill’s X-FORCE #30. X-Force has taken some lumps, but a new era begins as old-school X-Forcer Wade Wilson makes his grand return! Well, grand for him, necessary for the team, as X-Force needs all the help it can get in the fallout from the Hellfire Gala and the revelations of A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY! Find out why Kraven the Hunter is involved in the start of a landmark storyline titled “The Hunt for X.

· Who are the true inheritors of the Earth? The X-Men and Eternals fight over the answer to that question in X-MEN #13 by Gerry Duggan and C.F. Villa. The mutants are the next stage of evolution. Evolution depends on a mutation of genes – the genes of the offspring deviating from their progenitors. Some would call the X-gene EXCESS deviation. Those people are gonna need to be taken down a few pegs.

· And Arakko sees war yet again in X-MEN RED #5 by Al Ewing and Stefano Caselli. No one who is not an Omega-level mutant has ever taken one of the nine seats of the Great Ring. Together, they are the greatest power Arakko has ever known – and it’s nine against one. So, if the nine are losing…what does that say about the one? Judgment Day has come to the Red Planet – and it’s Arakko’s greatest test since X OF SWORDS!

Check out the covers now and stay tuned in the coming weeks for more exciting A.X.E. JUDGMENT DAY announcements and reveals!

The Three Main Factions in Marvel Comics. I just gotta LOL every time they give that "other" team such a hard push. Takes me back to the old days with one of those old songs they used to play on Sesame Street. "One of these things is not like the others!"

Even the MCU's massive influence isn't gonna make that dog hunt.

This summer, the Avengers, the X-Men, the Eternals, and more will face judgment on a cosmic scale and the very fate of the Marvel Universe will hang in the balance in A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY. Written by comics mastermind Kieron Gillen and drawn by acclaimed artist Valerio Schiti, this latest Marvel Comics crossover event begins when the Eternals target mutantkind and the Avengers find themselves struggling to prevent an apocalyptic war between two of the strongest factions on the planet. The saga will pay off various plot threads that have defined these franchises in recent years including mutantkind’s newfound immortality, the Eternals’ discovery of long-hidden truths about their species, and the Avengers' intense dealings with the Celestials.

In A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY #3 and #4, the Celestial known as the PROGENITOR will rise to usher in the second act of the event where various heroes and villains stand for judgment. Defending their past actions and mistakes in fascinating ways, these hard-hitting stories will impact various ongoing titles in thrilling tie-in issues. Read on to learn more about what’s to come!

It's time for Spider-Man to be judged in Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.’s AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #10 and fans won’t be surprised to see which moment in Spidey’s history is going to weigh heavily on the proceedings. You don’t want to miss this very special issue that might just break your heart all over again.

The Avengers’ ace archer is back in AVENGERS #60 by guest creative team, writer Mark Russell and artist Greg Land. As Judgment Day looms, Hawkeye is called upon to justify his existence. As a benchmark, Hawkeye must prove that he brings at least as much joy and usefulness to the world as a randomly chosen mailbox, which, admittedly, is a pretty high bar.

Event architect Kieron Gillen’s continues his bold work on the Eternals mythology alongside artist Guiu Vilanova in A.X.E.: DEATH TO THE MUTANTS #2. The Celestials said “Correct excess deviation.” Now the hour of judgment is upon the Eternals. Have they done enough? And does overcompensating at this late hour make it better, or make it worse?

Writer David Pepose and artist Juann Cabal kick off a two-part arc guest arc spotlighting the Invisible Woman in FANTASTIC FOUR #47. With judgment looming over the Marvel Universe, Reed Richards has locked himself in his Think Tank in search of answers. But with the fate of humanity on the line, what happens when Oubliette Midas sets her sights on the Baxter Building? As the Fantastic Four falls before the Exterminatrix’s death traps, only one hero remains standing — but if you thought Oubliette was dangerous, it’s nothing compared to what the Invisible Woman is capable of. Get ready for Die Hard in the Baxter Building. Yippie-ki-yay, Marvel Universe.

Judgment comes and the Quiet Council grows suspiciously quiet. An exception: Do you think a man so devoted to the Hellfire cares one jot?

Find out as Kieron Gillen and artist Lucas Werneck dare to confront Sebastian Shaw’s misdeeds in IMMORTAL X-MEN #6.

The Progenitor pays a visit to the Marauders in writer Steve Orlando and artist Andrea Broccardo’s MARAUDERS #6. Who will prove their right to life? Who will fail? And how excited is Orchis for a chance to scapegoat mutants for Earth’s brush with destruction? All this...and Detective Lockheed!

The Hand’s Hellbride returns for revenge on Wolverine and Solem in writer Benjamin Percy and artist Federico Vicentini’s WOLVERINE #24. But with Earth reeling from the revelations of A.X.E., a dire play from the Best There Is may be the planet’s last, best hope!

Kraven’s mutant hunt continues in writer Benjamin Percy and artist Robert Gill’s X-FORCE #31. Mutants have staked their claim as the dominant species. That just means it’s time for Kraven to prove once more he’s the apex predator. Don’t miss this Kraven tale unlike any other, sure to reverberate for decades to come.

Are ANY of the X-Men right? Writer Gerry Duggan and artist C.F. Villa explore one of the most heated X-Men debates in X-MEN #14. Only one can judge them and the Day of Judgment is here, for good or ill, and the newest team of X-Men must face the truth about themselves and what they have done.

One of the event’s key battles rages on in writer Al Ewing and artist Stefano Caselli’s X-MEN RED #6. Planet Arakko chose peace over war. Now war has chosen them. The monstrous arsenal of the Eternals is on the march. The Arakkii must defend their broken land according to the ancient laws… but against an enemy even older than they are, can the old ways win? Or is a new Arakko about to be born?

Check out all the new covers now and be there’s when the event officially kicks off in A.X.E.: EVE OF JUDGMENT #1 on July 13!

Right. I came here to say "really pushing those Eternals hard."

It's exactly the same as 2014, when Marvel pushed aside the X-Men and Fantastic Four in favor of The Inhumans and The Guardians of the Galaxy. Running around screaming "They're popular! They're popular!" won't make them popular. Same thing with Carol Danvers. When she was still Ms. Marvel in her black costume with the lightning bolt, she was one of my favorites, and I considered her a top-tier Avenger. Now, they took away her uniqueness to make her too much like Mar-Vell and a Wonder Woman knockoff.

Why is Makkari's skin color white in the first cover? She was reborn as a black woman.

According to Bleedingcool, Mark Brooks says she was the correct skin tone and it was a simple coloring and light filter mistake that he forgot to proof check and he  has already changed it and the cover will be correct by the time it hits print.

Whew! That was a close one. Twitter already had it's claws out. Probably still does until it actually comes out.

The Marvel Universe braces itself for JUDGMENT DAY! Written by mastermind talent Kieron Gillen and featuring the grand-scale artwork of Valerio Schiti and color artist Marte Gracia, A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY is an upcoming Marvel Comics event that kicks off when the Eternals start a vicious war with their new immortal rivals—the X-Men! The Eternals’ plan for mutant annihilation will include unleashing the most brutal members of their species starting with URANOS THE UNDYING! Imprisoned for millions of years, the grand-uncle of Thanos will be instrumental in the conflict, leading the attack against the new mutant planet of Arakko.

And Uranos won’t be the only new Eternals threat that the X-Men will have to face. Head to Marvel.com now for the reveal of THE HEX, mega-powerful Eternals that have awakened from a millennia-long slumber to stomp out mutantkind.

"The Eternals are the aggressors here,” Gillen explained to Popverse in a recent interview. “This is the Eternals about to go to war. You get to see the prime Eternals building their armories, working out how they're going to kill people, various plans and kidnappings, and the good Eternals perhaps being a bit more lost. It's preparation for war. That's what it is. I think that's the best way of describing it, as well as being also a really good restatement of what's going on in the Eternals. Because if you haven't read issues one to 12, this is like, 'OK, I don't know anything about Eternals. I don't know, why would [they] be going to war? Who are they even?' It's that as well. This is the preparation of the war happening and everything you need to know going in."

Check out a new teaser below and experience the start of Marvel Comics’ latest crossover epic when A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY #1 arrives on July 20.

Hard pass just out of frustration with Marvel.

Eternals - Never a fan, but the movie was okay. Still, not interested in learning more about them, so characters I am clueless on just don't appeal to me. And speaking of which...

X-Men - Not crazy about the whole Krakoa storyline. Too many characters over too many books. And why the heck are Rogue & Gambit NOT on the same team? Jean & Scott are. Reed & Sue too. Rogue's on the cool team and Gambit's playing Dungeon & Dragons in the Land of Oz. There was a reason the X-Men were great in the 90's.

Avengers - Anyone remember when the Avengers were a cool book that just kept chugging along, to something like 400 issues? Now it's every two years a new team, new start, new everything. And boy have they beaten the Ghost Rider to death. Johnny Blaze was great and Marvel got lucky when they upgraded GR to Danny Ketch...usually changes like that tend to annoy fans, but that one worked out pretty well. What are we up, GR #9 in a car, what's next GR #10 on a scooter? They destroyed a once great character.

IMO, DC hit rock-bottom. Not reading anything over there any more. I've clung to a couple Marvel books, but at this rate, I'm being all but shoved out of the comic-loving club. Bummer.

After I-don't-want-to-tell-you how many years of collecting comics I've had, I can only say, I agree. For the first time since I was 16 yrs old, I've cancelled my "pull/hold" lists and haven't visited my local comic shop in over a year. Even more than the outrageous pricing, is the fact that books are just horribly written and drawn now.

I didn't leave comics. Comics left me.

I was thinking about comic creators and their creations the other day, and made an interesting observation. I started looking at the absolute best characters and when they were created and I found that Marvel hasn't had an explosion of great characters in about 30 - 40 years. Sure, every decade has shinning stars, but the 2000's have almost no standout characters. The 1990's biggest hit was Deadpool, the 1980's had their share, but when you get to the 1970's and 1960's, HOLY HELL! The absolute best characters came out of those two decades, hands down! Made me wonder what Marvel's marching orders are for their creators. I remember a writing teacher once saying that the order of priority with a film should be character, plot and then spectacle, but the problem with Hollywood is they have things in reverse order in most instances. I think the same could be said for Marvel Comics. Bet if they started with character and not the next big crossover event, we could get a cascade of great new characters like the 60's and 70's gave us.

Many X-Men will be killed by this clown only to be resurrected  by the Krakoa protocol crap. Death has meant nothing in comics for a long time but this is just ridiculous. I remember when Phoenix died in 1980...I was honestly moved by her death. Now mutants die every issue to come back willy nilly. Means nothing.

Ok...I'm done with that rant. Sorry if you are a CURRENT X-men fan.

Bring back good stories about good characters that MEAN something.  Not just these "EVENTS"

I miss classic writing and art.
