Seriously, there is nothing SHF has done, to my recollection, that has ever made me want to pay those exorbitant prices. Sure, the accessories are a very strong point, but price vs quality vs quantity just does not work out. I can't even really see that their head sculpts are even that much better anymore. Now if you ask my preference I'll take a sculpted head sculpt with a bit of personality over what's become Hasbro's PhotoReal mugshots any day, but this one isn't even all that good. Plus the paint is messy and oversaturated, on the prototype that is supposed to be the showcase. This just looks like a rushed attempt to get something to print as soon as possible.

The only thing SHF has going for it right now is that if Hasbro keeps with the pace it's been on lately it is only a matter of time before their prices are just as unreasonable.

I still prefer the Legends version. The articulation cuts are just too unsightly and he's way too shiny and metallic. Despite the Legends not coming with alternate heads, I think they look far better overall and they cost a third of the price. I likely wouldn't have displayed them with the unmasked heads anyway.

Tamashii Nations has announced that the Unmasked Andrew Garfield heasculpt they first showed for their Spider-Man: No Way Home S.H. Figuarts The Amazing Spider-Man figure back in September of last year will not be included with the final product. No reason has been given on why it was removed.

I've heard Andrew doesn't like giving his facial likeness rights to toy companies, so it could be something to do with that. We are apparently supposed to be getting an unmasked ML Andrew in the NWH wave as per the leaked list, so it'll be interesting to see what happens with that. I can't imagine Hasbro would have planned a release of him unmasked without first clearing the likeness rights, especially since they design them like a year or 2 in advance.

I'm having to restrain myself from buying this guy. I really want a Tobey but I have to wait for the ML version to ship, hopefully in the next couple months. My collection is primarily ML so I don't like to get SHF unless I absolutely have  no other choice. I've been thinking about picking up TFATWS Falcon for that very reason, doesn't seem like Hasbro will do one.

Don't restrain, I love marvel legends because they are less expensive and cause they are decent figures. But we need to be honest with ourselves. S.H. Figuarts in my opinion, makes the best figures. They Pose better than legends and are basically just as durable. Sure price tag is higher but they nailed the headsculpt, which is usually the only part they struggle with.

I can't justify the price. The 3-pack is the same price as Tobey alone and I personally think Legends figures are much better than SHF in a lot of aspects. Plus he just doesn't fit with the rest of my collection.

All good, sounds like you have plenty of restraint. I agree the price points on the Figuarts are heavy but personally I do think they are better figures. They are more posable anyways.

Yeah, that's true. The articulation and sometimes the detail can be better, but I prefer the scale and hand feel of Legends better. Neither is really better than the other objectively, it all comes down to personal preference.

For those of you complaining about Hasbro’s pricing please note that the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man alone costs more than Hasbro’s 3 pack. Hasbro could probably give us unmasked heads at an increased price point but then many people would complain about that, too.

Eh.. but not so much. If the rumors are true we will be getting all three unmasked in the upcoming NWH wave. And at the current $24.99 price point.

So Hasbro CAN add extra heads without the cost going up. They chose NOT to, hence the complaining about cost = value

I actually think the proportions on the SHF in this case are more accurate than the Legends, the longer torso and broader chest look closer to the movie. I still prefer the Legends versions though, except in the case of Tom who Hasbro still can't get right. That's why I have all the MCU Spider-Man Mafex figures released so far. I hope we get a new mold for Tom eventually that has the diaphragm/ab crunch combo. The proportions aren't terrible on the integrated and upgraded suits but I think the better torso articulation would go a long way toward making it even better.
