I was under the assumption that Viper/Madam Hydra had a visibly scarred face and that's why she wore her hair down on one side. Was I mistaken? Is Viper a different character altogether?  My only exposure to the Viper character was in the X-Men and New Mutants stories back in the 80's.

Viper_(Ophelia_Sarkissian_-_circa_1988).png

For a long time, she did have that scar but its since been healed; Madame Hydra was a ranking Hydra leader, but forcibly retired (too crazy even for them), then ran into the Serpent Squad/Society villain Viper. She killed him (she didn't want to share the same name) and took over leadership of the Serpent Squad. She was a ruthless maniac, driven by nihilism.  I was really hoping they'd put her on a more robust buck and include the scarred face as an alternate. The only thing they got right was molding on the evening gloves. I can't express how disappointed I am at this slap-dash job they did on her.

Oh wait, yes I can- by not buying it.

This is the kind of thing that drives me absolutely nuts with these guys.

it could be just the lighting. Maybe figure images are just bad lighting but when you have it in hand you see the subtle paint.

I have seen people are slightly confused about the Vistron wave. First, the What If...? wave (the Watcher wave) is officially not a what if wave. It is officially the Disney+ wave 2 (thus the Silvie in it). It just so happened to be what if...? heavy because there was a ton of character they could have done for that wave. (Hawkeye wasn't for many months away).
As for the Vistron wave, it will be a mixed of the Live Action (with Hawkeye, Kate Bishop and Moon Knight confirmed, with Ms. Marvel Highly likely) and MAYBE some What If...? figures (this is not confirmed but is highly possible). It is officially the Disney Plus wave 3, not a what if...? wave 2.

I hope you're right. I don't plan on getting it but I still want it to be correct. Its a shame 'cause it looks like everything else is on point.

I'm glad someone agrees with me about this! This figure is hardly an upgrade to the last one. I'm actually floored by how lazy an effort was made here, from the twiggy body (which makes absolutely no sense now that they've got a new more solid body sculpt), and the lack of an extra head. Heck, two bonus heads would have been the best move; the scarred one as you pointed out, and the short-hair version from the 70s/ 80s.

Those figures look well done. Madam Hydra is a definite want. Thor looks interesting too. And for the beaker, I'm guessing it's for the blue Beast re-release. He'll probably be in a lab coat and come with a beaker. I'm hoping he has a new head sculpt.

Same way that alternate head packed in with Omega Sentinel inexplicably depicts a non-esistent caucasian version of a brown-skinned and black-haired Indian character: They're not paying attention.

Like I stated earlier to which @tarotrequested further clarification, with this new, willfully labeled "standard" female buck it leads me to believe they simply plan on using it as a straight drop in for the previously over utilized Kate Bishop buck while also fazing out the Moonstone buck the Scarlet Witch buck and the sorely under used Dark Phoenix buck, essentially making every female the exact same size. Now, if they were planning to use the lower torso, upper thighs and the arms as standard base and then create and use several different upper torsos (cuz that is a thing), different lengths and thickness of legs and several different feet that could all be used together and mixed and matched as it pertains to each character that would be pretty damn brilliant, but that seems to be a little too much effort for Hasbro to put into their product. Ultimately it just seems that they intend to use one female buck for 90 percent of the female characters with the occasional unique bucks for larger characters such as She-Hulk or Titania. At least that's how the specific wording of Standard Female Buck is coming across to me. And based on how this buck has been used ever since it's unveiling (Shriek, Megan, Binary, Quake, Frankie Ray) I don't thing I'm very far off the mark.

That was a pretty awesome reveal showcase, I am so into this Controller BAF wave, so many great characters, I def want to build that Controller, Lucky enough I want all of those figures except Iron Man, Thor I wouldn't have Imagined liking so much but I do, he looks really cool, Madame Hydra, Speedball, Quake/Maria Hill, US Agent and Blue Marvel I'm very happy to finally see, what a good all comic wave! I am also very glad to see Deluxe Rhino finally getting a release, Stealth Future Foundation Spider-Man he's okay, not super thrilled, also not that interested in Infinity Ultron, Storm is a pass, but it's the best looking figure of that Animated lot so far.

Looks Like it's going to be the Controller Wave (minus IM) and Rhino for me.

What a weird live stream.  I really like Ryan, but he was totally distracted today.  Dwight was awesome as always.

They showed a lot, but I think we already knew just about everything (just not what it looked like).

No Toad reveal?  That’s why I tuned in.

I’ll probably get 2 of Quake for Shield, Speedball for New Warriors (although I think the head looks strange, US Agent, and I’m debating on that Madam Hydra. The old one was ugly, but the hair on this new one is just bizarre.  If it’s at the $25 price point, I don’t think it’s hardly worth it. She either needed a second head or a hooded cloak.

I might get the Controller on the secondary market. Not digging the Thor and Ironman designs and I have no idea who Blue Marvel is.

I have the Toy Biz Rhino. I know it’s not as articulated as this new one, but it’s just not that different in my opinion.  I’m going to have to think about it.

ill pick up Future Foundation Spidey - I collect all of the Spidey variants.

Pass on animated stuff and Disney + stuff.

Was hoping for talk about army builders and restocks of army builders.

For anyone wondering why controller is the baf for an Avenger, he has fought the team a few time either in their book or or in iron man's book. Hell, he even used his power to try and control Monica Rambeau into a relationship.

Yeah make sure you keep Adam away from him.

So happy with the Iron Man wave. Great choices except for a Blue Marvel, no history with him and his suit looks like a bad rip off of 90’s era Mr Terrific. Googled him and his ‘Retro’ suit is just dumb too.

Speedball brings back some great nostalgia. His book wasn’t very good but his suit always stuck out to me

US Agent is a thing of beauty. Though not sure what version of his shield had that light grey/ or blue stripe, looks very off. Is this another bad Hasbro attempt at shading?

No interest as of now in that Thor, not a fan of his design. Iron Man either but I’ll reserve judgement until in hand

i kinda dig Viper. something about  the simple design works. And I think she has a very striking head sculpt.

Quake is a box checked since I’m an Avengers completist but otherwise bleh. Tempted to army build her but the no holster is kind of a bummer. Feel that an inevitable Pulse exclusive will correct this oversight. Jeez, Bendis and his girls with short hair fetish. I couldn’t tell in the comics if the artist was drawing Quake or Hill. No different here, I thought the Hill head was a 2nd Quake head. Same suit doesnt help either.

may pick up some Power Ranger figures to get extra heads for my SHIELD team. In passing they look like I could add variety to the figures, wonder if they fit without to much effort?

Be curious when these will start hitting stores? The Fixit wave was announced and in stores in record time if I recall

Really disappointed with their decision to give Madam Hydra old body instead of Shriek, those legs are horrible both aesthetically and functionally. Quake/Maria Hill looks amazing tho, smart combo as well, Thor is real good as well but that Us Agent has very weird looking headsculpt especially when you consider it's pretty much straight up reuse of 2016 cap wolf body. US agent should be bigger than Cap, therefore if they used Captain Britain body, they would only need to give him normal knees and pirate boots, we would get way more accurate Us Agent.

I wonder if the Shriek body is too short for Hydra? If so Hasbro should make another pinless female body for this size, especially since it seems to be one of the most common sizes for female characters.

What the hasblro legends team needs to do is treat the female figs the same way they do male figs. They have a mold for Cap, Spider-Man and Thor. These aren't interchangeable and no one would expect to see Spidey on a Cap mold, or Cap on a Thor mold. It shouldn't be hard for them to realize then that the Black Widow, the Wasp, Moondragon and Thundra can't share a "common" size either. The mold they use for a teenager like Kate Bishop can't be used for the Black Widow, nor should it be some kind of "default". It stuns me that they work so hard on doing great head sculpts, but too often just phone it in for the bodies.

I'm not saying retire the "teen" buck. I'm saying keep it, but also have a more robust, classic female mold, a taller one, and one for characters like Valkyrie, She-Hulk, etc. Just like they do for your Spideys, Caps, and Thors.

Agreed. Many times it feels like they don't care about different body types and proportions and it's an important part of every figure.

Late to the party but..
of COURSE Madame Hydra gets thrown on the KB mold…. sad 😭
And to hell with consistency bc I want Masque even more and really hope she doesn’t get this same buck.
And Speedball gets nothing extra at all? Tisk tisk.

Looks like it’s just gonna be Rhino & Controller on my radar. And US Agent.

I have to agree with Speedball not getting anything at all. it's not the effects that bother me though, how to work his powers is difficult as he doesn't shot anything from his hand so the kirby crackles make no sense. It's that they forgot Neils. They could have just repainted Goose/Black Cat's cat.

Wonder how the McFarlane Polka Dot Man's effects would work with Speedball? Seem to recall that Robby's effects were multiple colors..

Yeah, they are multiple colours, so they would probably work
