Sydney Sweeney To Co-Star Opposite Dakota Johnson In Sony's Marvel 'Madame Web'

Part of me really wants to be a fan of the Sony-verse movies. Nowadays, I try my best not to set my expectations too high and just appreciate these movies for what they are. That being said, I'm not expecting anything mind-blowing but I am happy to see more movies centered around spider-powered superheroes. Maybe we'll get lucky and this will inspire a comic book style Madame Web for the marvel legends line.

Sony's biggest asset is also it's biggest weakness. Spider-Man is almost always a sure hit. But that's all they got after that. You can't make movies out of villains and tertiary characters. It's never going to work.

Getting serious "Birds of Prey" vibes. Looks kinda low-budget, and it seems like it should've come out in 2002.

I watched this trailer again...It got worse, I want to like this movie, but I envision trainwreck is written in the stars, it just looks so CW, also that Logo looks so bad, like cheap cheap AI did it.

at this point in time, not sure what looks worse, Kraven or This movie, but they both give me the heeby jeebies.

According to ComicBookMovie, an international trailer and poster have been unveiled, showcasing Dakota Johnson's superhero outfit for the highly anticipated Madame Web film. The trailer originated from Japan and was shared on Twitter by @realdakjfan. Additionally, Discussing Film has revealed an international poster that features the main protagonist alongside three young women, Julia Carpenter (portrayed by Sydney Sweeney), Mattie Franklin (played by Celeste O'Connor), and Anya Corazón (enacted by Isabela Merced), who are fated to acquire Spider-like abilities of their own.

Hmmm, I see this, still makes me feel like this is destined to be a stinker, with that being said, will I be there opening weekend for this movie, *groans* Yes.... so CW vibes, it's hurting, but it's ladies Spider people in a movie...gush it's awesome, but I know this is gonna be a stanker, but if you can make me go see Morbius day 1, I'm just a shame, so off I will go.

So, masks that don't hide their faces or identities at all. Is this the compromise they came up with for actors? This constant taking off their helmets and masks, and never caring about secret identities has really taken a lot of storytelling about the Super Heros away. And no matter how low tech the character is, they have Transformers like masks that compact down into nothing with a mere thought.

Yeah I always thought, what's the point of wearing a mask...that's not actually covering your face? it's pointless, you just now look well dumb, what is the mask doing for you? the point of a mask is to hide your face..now it's just ornamental, what to make you look fancy and super hero'y, like come on, I know it's you.

but like these masks look really dorky, they hold zero purpose, the Anya Corazon one is like...not even a mask it's just some eye thing. it's actually doing nothing for her, UgH🫠

this movie is gonna suck, if it doesn't I'd be shocked. Like really shocked.

I....kinda like this, actually. I think they look adorable in their costumes. Not in a condescending way, but more in a fun and lighthearted silly way. I literally marinated in comics from the late 70s and all of the 80s, and for me these things looking just a bit stupid is part of the fun; they're no less silly than Spider Man's costume, or Captain America's to be frank. Actually, the thing I think is lame in these films is heroes/ villains without their traditional (and often pointless) masks on, lol.

at least the costume are.....some what accurate. Since don't think I'll watch this and I'm a spidey-fanatic. I'm at the stage now where I think Marvel should just pony up the cash for the whole licence.

If Sony want to sell it. Which it seems like they don't
