Neal Adams, the Legend

Neal Adams, comic book legend and defender of artists' rights, died  Saturday, at 80 years old.

This is very sad news for the comic industry we know and love so well. His masterful work was a next-level degree of artisan work, and he became the standard to which dozens were compared to for decades to come. The Avengers, the Batman, the X-Men, Superman, the Green Lantern, all had some of their highest and most popular ratings due to his art.

I didn't know the man personally but did chat with him thru social media (as did with his other thousands of followers).  He was always approachable, liked to engage in conversation and debate, and was just a very decent guy (from my limited exposure to him). I was shocked and saddened to learn of his passing.

HE was a true LEGEND.

This is very sad indeed. I’ve always loved his work. The comic industry has lost a true legend.

between this and the recent news concerning George Perez, comic fans have dealt a terrible blow recently
