Yes I knew that but the SAG accompanying strike aside the production company still keeps many writers on staff during the production of the film for emergency rewrites and reworks and as they were on strike for I think 73 days now I would have expected it to have effected this project sooner.

It was affected. Rewrites and even improvising (because that gets rewritten into the shooting script) were forbidden by the WGA, but production wasn't going to shut down as long as there was a script and people to act it out.

According to Deadline, Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3 will not be released in theaters on May 3 as originally planned, due to the ongoing actors strike. Even if the strike ends soon, the movie would not be able to meet the May release date, considering the amount of work needed to reassemble the crew and complete the remaining tasks.

This is just the beginning of the impact on 2024 film releases, as other studios are also facing challenges with their notable movies in similar positions to Deadpool 3. There is a slight possibility, as per sources, that Captain America: Brave New World, which was initially scheduled for May 3 but was later moved to July 26, might be delayed further. This is because it is in better condition than Deadpool 3, having already completed production.

Variety has confirmed that "Deadpool 3" will resume production before Thanksgiving after a four-month suspension due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The highly anticipated Marvel Studios project will reunite Ryan Reynolds with director Shawn Levy and actor Hugh Jackman, who will be reprising his role as Wolverine for the 10th time.

The film's scheduled release on May 3, 2024, was previously in question, but Reynolds recently announced on social media that it will be coming in "Summer 2024."

The film will feature returning stars Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Rob Delaney, as well as newcomers Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. Additionally, Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, adding more multiverse intrigue to the mix.

Even though we now have to wait until July 26, 2024 for Deadpool 3, thanks to Ryan Raynolds we now know Hugh Jackman as Wolverine isn't the only superhero showing up in the movie. Thanks to this image he posted on Twitter we now have our first look at Dogpool set to appear in the movie.

Hahaha! I was just reading some random thing about the world's ugliest dog and it was this little critter. Said nothing about DP3 but I think it was an old article. Well I guess having the world's ugliest dog paid off. Who knew?🤷!?

I knew I recognized that dog from something (or at least an equally as weird looking dog)! I remember reading a similar article a month or 2 ago.

Oh so they had to make Dogpool some weirdo looking dog and deviant away from what they looked like in the comic, of course..should have figured they'd want to go some funny/cute-ish route, this feels really gimmicky, on some Baby Yoda type business, because this Dogpool is going to be a Merch selling sensation for sure. Ah well w/e, I would have been fine if they had a dog that looked like the comic dog, but that might not have been such a attractive gimmick as ugly dog here.

I love it!!! I think it's better than the comic version since that didn't look like a scarred dog... which is kinda like the Deadpool thing... right?

Exactly what I was thinking. The process uglyfied Wade. It should work the same way with the dog.

I think the comic version was a decently mangey messed-up mutt in his first appearances:

LOL. Isnt that always the case? I guess some artists don't like drawing ugly things. Also see the drastic changes in characters like Guido and Terror. Somewhere down the line they all seem to get a bit of a makeover.

I call it Davisication after Alan Davis, who was known for that.

Several photos from the set of Marvel's Deadpool 3 have already been leaked, causing quite a stir. In contrast to his character's witty nature, Ryan Reynolds is not taking it lightly and has taken to his Threads stories to urge everyone to refrain from sharing spoilers.

Quote

“Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies. It’s important for us to shoot the new DEADPOOL film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally. Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone."

“Here’s hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they’re ready." “The film is built for audience joy — and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the "good problems" bucket."

"I love making this movie.”

Lol. Good luck with that. Every hack on the beat is out there trying to out scoop the other on a second by second basis. I don't thing there has been an actual surprise in any movie since the invention of the internet. If there is a leak out there to be had you better believe it'll get out. The only way you don't get hit by a leak is if you make a conscious decision to avoid any and all avenues that could expose that leak to you. And I have actually done so. But even with the limited leaks that we've already seen this thing looks so cool there is nothing in Heaven or Hades that can steer me away from seeing this movie. You can spoil the whole darn thing and I'm still going to want to see it in person.

An Alan Davis inspired figure of Opal Saturnyne, all for it.

The studios have thus far done an outstanding job with the Deadpool movies- no mean feat, considering I'm hardly a fan of the character. I admire the hell out of them for getting me to reconsider! Respect!!

I was smiling through the whole thing.. I'm really looking forward to this. At the end I saw the Marvel Studios logo over the title and went oh yeah it's in the MCU, and there were obviously other elements throughout the trailer, but this felt like good old Deadpool footage, with the tone and everything, that for a while I forgot where it takes place and that (MCU inclusion) only adds to the excitement.
